Paper Players Challenge # 96

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

Anne Marie has a great challenge for us this week, and I was not at all surprised to see the polka dots make an appearance:-)

CAS May

So, a Clean and Simple card challenge with a twist of polka dots – right up my alley.  I must admit, I was very pleased that this was a CAS challenge this week.  I haven't made a card in a month, and was really worried about putting ink to rubber again.  Also, in a brand new space, that isn't quite ready, it was also a strange feeling having to get everything out of their new places.  Luckily, I still have my old crafting cupboard and it is set up just the same way as it was, so that really helped me.

Here's what I came up with:

Pp96 (2)

I think that fits the bill don't you?  CAS with polka dots!

I decided to use the frame for the sentiment to soften the look and edges of the card.  I also thought that the pattern around the inside of the stamped image helped keep the "dot" theme going.

Card ingredients – all supplies Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

  • Stamps:  Friendly Phrases.  Vintage Labels (Amuse Studio)
  • Inks:  Night of Navy
  • Ribbon:  Whisper White Satin Ribbon
  • DSP:  Polka Dot Assortment (Amuse Studio)
  • Tools:  Big Shot.  Vintage Labels Die (Amuse Studio)

The Players certainly have a great assortment of cards to provide you with some inspiration this week.  So, we hope that you will play along with us, and visit the Player's individual blogs.

Don't forget to pop along to the Paper Players challenge blog and show us what you can do with polka dots and clean and simple!

On a personal note:

It felt good to get into my stamping space today.  I still have a little work to do to get it all as it should be, and I am still missing one box of goodies.  However, I am loving the space and the light – and the view from my window.

I couldn't go without sharing a picture of my little sunseeker!  One of the things about our new home is that there are windows on all sides.  This means that the cats can follow the sun all day to find just the "right spot".  In the late afternoon, the stairs appear to be just THE spot.  Here's my beautiful Bilbo enjoying a little peace and quiet and a little sun.

Sunseeker

Yes… his paws really are THAT big.  He has enormous paws.  By the time I had taken several shots, he was getting a little peeved about being interrupted and gave me that "LEAVE ME ALONE NOW" look.

The cats are going to find it a little hard to follow the sun today.  The rain that started last night, is still making an appearance.  The wetlands are now back to looking a little wet:-)  It has been raining that "English drizzle" for most of the day and is set to be cloudy for the remainder of the day.  As our old house is in a valley, we are not accustomed to seeing so much sky – and we are absolutely loving it.

I hope you all have a truly wonderful Sunday and a great start to your week tomorrow.  As always, thank you so much for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visits and your support really do mean a great deal to me.  Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Beautiful simplicity Jaydee! I see you haven’t lost your mojo with your break from stamping. I’ve been enjoying your pics and stories of your new home. Love Bilbo’s “back off, I’m sleepy” face!

  2. It’s BEAUTIFUL CAS with polka dots. :o) I just had a box of goodies arrive on my doorstep. Maybe time to get in the offudio and play some more? We’ve been plagued with sickness and yuck and I’m ready for a break. :o)
You know, no one can do disdainful as well as a peeved kitty. ;o) I’m so glad they can all find sun and just absorb all that solar energy. I truly believe kitties are solar powered. :oP
Hugs! May the rain end soon!
    P.S. Hiya Lou! :o)

  3. My favorite style of card! Looks as if he’s adjusting fine to his new home, but no at all pleased with the paparazzi.
