Houston, we have contact!

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday night.

I am pleased to report that I have found my mouse… and my keyboard…. so I can get back online from my personal PC.  Now… if I could find my scissors and my inks, I could actually make some cards!  

I'm sitting in my new space and Lou is putting together my brand new cupboard.  We went to Ikea today to get a cabinet to match my other crafting furniture.  I needed a new low cabinet to put my Big Shot and all the associated accoutrement!

I have also managed to unpack about another 10 boxes and things are slowly falling in to place.  We had to go back to the old house again today and these 2 hour trips backwards and forwards are starting to get a little old:-)

As I type, there is a rain storm and the sky is the most amazing color.  The wetlands look so different in this light.  It's wonderful being able to experience all of these new things in our new home.

Not only did I find my mouse and keyboard, I also found my transfer mechanism for my photos.  So, I have a couple of photos to share with you tonight.

Before I do that, though, we have a winner for the blog candy from this post.   Cam, I have to tell you that we had a traditional dining table.  In fact, we have had it for 18 years and it finally went to a new home the day before we moved.  It was a beautiful mahogany table with inlay…. and it worked fabulously in our last two homes.  In our new home though, we wanted to do something a little different and our gorgeous, traditional table didn't work because it was dark wood on a dark wood floor.  So, that's the reason for doing something entirely different.

Which table did we choose?    Number 3!   Actually, I loved all of these tables.  I LOVE table 2 – but it is just too big.  I love table 1 – but Lou didn't like it.  So, we settled on table 3.   Linda, you were right – it does go with the desk for Lou and, as the two rooms are opposite each other, we think they will be a good fit.  Pat… you were right, too.  The table works fabulously with the chairs.

So… I put all of you who said table #3 into a random number generator – and the winner of the STAMPIN' UP FRAMELLITS HEARTS IS….. MARSHA E.  Congratulations, Marsha, please send me your physical address via email and I will get your blog candy shipped out to you.   For all the rest of you who have waited so patiently for your blog candy, I recovered all the bounty from the old house today, and it will all be packaged up ready to send off to you tomorrow.

One of the things that I had not had a sighting of was my bath.  Now, I'm a girl who loves a long bath and I really wanted a stand-alone bath.  It was one of the last things that they put into the house, so we hadn't had a glimpse of it at all.  I couldn't wait to go upstairs during the walkthrough and see it for the first time.  I wasn't disappointed!

It sits right in front of the window, between the two vanities.   Lou loves his shower, too!

Well, it is good that we were both happy with the bathroom.  I was also happy with the lightfitting that we had chosen for the entrance hall.  I remember when we went to the lighting shop Lou said NO BLING.  Definitely NO BLING.   Well, I guess you can tell who won that round?

Actually, he loves it.  I did say I would change it, but by then, he had fallen in love with it, too.

I couldn't resist taking some shots from the deck.  It was amazing how much the vegetation had grown in during the two weeks or so that we didn't visit.   We have enjoyed this view every single day.

We have also had some visitors!   I'd like to introduce you to our new neighbor, Gilbert!

I have no idea why I decided to call the Groundhog Gilbert… but it just seems to fit 🙂

And this next picture shows you the reason why we have put off staining the deck!

Who could disturb them?

I can see them from my crafting desk and hope to be able to keep an eye on them tomorrow whilst I am making some cards…. well, if I find my ink that is:-)
