Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday
Just wanted to pop in and tell you that we are finally back in the land of the connected! We have TV access, telephone and cable! It has felt really strange not having access since Thursday morning.
These last few days have been an absolute blur. We drove the 2 hours up and the 2 hours back on Tuesday to take the cats to kennels. On Wednesday for the walk-through and closing. On Thursday for our move and on Saturday to clean up the old house, pick up stuff that we hadn't finished packing, staging, etc. Today… we got to unpack and relax a little and enjoy our new space.
We might not have any furniture…. one couch and we are sleeping on the mattress on the floor! However, we are loving every minute of the house and the view. On Thursday night we went to sleep with the sound of the frog orchestra surrounding us. On Friday morning I woke up to the most magnificent sunrise. I say I did, because Lou was so tired he refused to open his eyes to even look. Mind you, I can't blame him… we've been living on about 4 hours sleep a night for a week.
We are so glad that we waited to see the house on closing day. It felt amazing to walk in and see everything that we had spent so much time on. Everything surpassed our expectations and it looked stunning. The cats are loving it – they are really, really relaxed. They weren't that way in kennels though! We had chosen a kennel 5 minutes from the new house because we knew they would be stressed after having been in kennels and would not take kindly to another 2 hour ride. So, it was a quick, but very noisy trip to the house – but they settled in very quickly. They are, however, a little miffed about the lack of comfortable things (aka furniture) to lie on!
My craft room is not set up yet and I won't be able to get to that until this weekend. Of the 150 boxes we have to unpack – I think we have unpacked maybe 15. Finding new homes for everything seems to take so long. After 14 years in a house you have a place for everything – and everything in it's place. Now… we have to find new places for everything and it seems that everything you want ISNT the thing that you unpacked!
I hope you all had a truly fabulous weekend and enjoyed a relaxing Mother's Day.
I'll be back on Tuesday with the winner of the blog candy for the dining room table!
For the rest of the winner's – I'm sorry I haven't gotten your goodies out to you yet… but I promise I have them with your names attached 🙂
As always, thank you for spending a little time in my area of the blogosphere. I really do appreciate your visits.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

I’m so glad to hear that everything went well, and especially that the kitties are adapting easily. Can’t beat those frog songs. 🙂
I’m so happy for you Lou and your fur babies! Can’t wait to see pictures. Take your time with the decorating and enjoy it!
Welcome home!!! :o)
Sometimes the unpacking takes longer than the packing–you want to find the most perfect place for those things.
I’m glad the furbabies are all settled in. Hopefully the furniture will arrive before you know it.
Thank you for letting us know you are indeed alive and well!
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou! :o)

Happy House!! Starting a new chapter in your life–sounds so exciting!! We have lived in this house 35 yrs. and there are still a few boxes that we never unpacked!! DUH things we knew we could not live without. I told my husband–let’s just take them to Goodwill and not even open them!!
Relax–you have the rest of your life to find the right spot for everything!!
Yay!!!! I’m so happy for you in new home!! I thought about you different times last week and about how excited and happy you probably were!! The frog orchestra is one of the nicest sounds there is–I love hearing that in the evening!! Finding the perfect place for everything sure does take long. Can be a little frustrating too. :). Anyway, so happy you are back online and all is going well.
