Lori’s OWH Showcase

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday…yay!! tomorrow is FRIDAY!

I have another great showcase of cards for you tonight.  Thank you, Lori, for all your fabulous cards.  Lorri's cards included fabulous little butterfly cards, perfect for a little girl.  Masculine cards.  Bold and graphic cards.  Soft and feminine cards.  For all sorts of different occasions.  I loved visiting each and every card and know that the service men/women will love having these cards to send home to their families.  Thank you so much, Lori!

To see Lori's entire gallery of cards – just click HERE – or double click on the card photo below, and you will, by the magic of computer technology, be taken to Lori's virtual gallery!  I know you will find lots of inspiration, so please check out her cards and leave her a little card comment love! 🙂

I loved this card.  The yellow with the crumb cake is so soft and soothing.  The single button with the ribbon perfectly highlights the meaningful sentiment.  This fabulous card was filled with sunshine and designed to make the recipient smile!  Love it!

On a personal note:

We woke up this morning and I was freezing… and it wasn't just me.  The plants were freezing, too.  It's hard to believe that we went from summer to winter over night :-)  Today was a gorgeous, crisp, fall day.  Stunning.  The air smells different at this time of the year.  I love fall.  If you haven't checked out Rach's blog recently, you should check out this post.  She has a wonderful checklist of "bucket" items to do in fall.  It made me smile.  I think I need to add some of those things to my list of things to do this fall!   Oh.. yeah…and talking about Rach…. you are in double trouble now, young lady!    As a lifetime vegetarian, I have always had a healthy respect for pigs, especially when I found that they have the intelligence of 8 year olds, and we know how smart 8 year olds are.  Well, thanks to Rach and now Lou, I HATE pigs.  Well, little green, mustachioed pigs to be specific.  I swear, I would roast those things on a spit in a licketysplit minute!  If I hear one more toothy pig snortlaugh at me, I swear I am going to stamp on my ipad.  yes sirree… I hate little green, snorting, toothy, pigs – and piglets! 🙂

Today I was sitting on yet another conference call, and was thrilled to see the turkey and poults.  A few weeks ago, we noticed that another pair of turkeys had leeeeeeetle tiny poults following them.  Our third lot this year!  We were really thrilled.  Well, I was doubly thrilled to see them altogether as a family this morning scratching in the yard.  They certainly are growing.  The oriole decided to make an appearance, too.  Well… you know…. seriously….. you only visit me on your way in – and out – of town.  That just doesn't seem fair 🙂

What doesn't seem quite fair, is that we will be getting ready to bring in the furniture off the deck in preparation for the cold winter months.  I swear it doesn't seem more than a couple of months since we got the deck ready.  Actually, it isn't!

As always, thank you for vising my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visits are always much appreciated.

Warm hugs and prayers for those who need a lift tonight.

Jaydee

btw…. if Missy, Germaine or Jan A are reading… please could you PM me, or leave a message and let me know that you are all OK

  2. Lori, I love your cards and have saved quite a few to CASE. :o) I never would have thought to use yellow with Crumb Cake, but it looks wonderful. I also really liked the black and white card with the red bow and vellum(?) butterflies. Talk about stunning visual impact! :o)
Um, er, uh, sorry Jaydee? ;oP Mr. Mustachio is a menace, plain and simple. Like I wrote to Lou, when they snort/chuckle at me I’m ready to hurl my phone across the room. GRRRR. Horrible. The game is horrible…and WAY addictive. ;o)
How wonderful to see the poults, and I’m so glad the orioles have stopped back in for a visit. :o)
    Fall–I can’t wait!
Hugs, and prayers for those in need. :o)
P.S. Lou, may there be nothing but black bonsai bombing birds in your future. :oP

  3. Great job Lori! I especially liked the one with the tree with the wood looking background.
I also like the ones with the 4 strips of paper on the fronts. I will have to do that layout for some cards– great idea!

  4. Lori,
What gorgeous cards! Love the yellow one Jaydee highlighted with the patterned papers behind and soft colors. I really enjoyed the banner card with two different sizes of pennants also. I haven’t seen that done before and love the look. A big congrats for the large assortment of cards you made. Hugs!
    Jaydee,
Love to hear your backyard stories and what animals have decided to visit you. I would have enjoyed a little more transition this year, but you get what you get. Thanks for the wonderful galleries you put together for us to enjoy!
