Fabulous Florets – Beyond the Garden – CAS

Hi Everyone.

Happy Wednesday night.  Very quick post for you tonight – more pics than chatter.  Now… I can hear some of you saying… ABOUT TIME!!!!

I made a card using the Paper Players CAS sketch challenge this week.  This is the third take I have done on this challenge.  You can see my others HERE and HERE.

I decided to go way outside of my comfort zone and use Pacific Point and Old Olive!

Here's what I came up with

Ppcas (1)

Now… I tried a couple of options before I settled on this.  I played around with an Old Olive scalloped element instead of the pacific point.  I also changed the colors of the sentiment ink.  I thought you might be wondering what it would look like with Pacific Point ink for the sentiment, or for a different color scalloped element…. so…. your wonder is my command 🙂

Here comes green scallop with Pacific Point sentiment

The only one I didnt photograph for you was Pacific Point ink sentiment with Pacific Point scallop border… it was altogether waaaaaay too much Pacific Point!

S0… I hope you liked the look at the subtle differences.  it's amazing what changing a single element or two can do to the balance of a card.

Now… don't forget to join the Paper Players on our CAS challenge this week!

Prayers tonight for those affected by the storms.  Also for those of you who need a warm hug or a little lift.

Have a fabulous Thursday

hugs

Jaydee

  1. Your sketch was fabulous, and I have had fun playing around with it. I’m going to try to get in the “offudio” and make a couple more cards using it.
Of the three cards you posted, I like the top one the best. The PP scallop flows more with the base, and the OO sentiment picks up the OO in the DSP nicely. That said, I like all three cards. :o)
That “chatter” you were talking about? I LOVE it! :o)
I hope your snow is melting, and I’m SO happy your finger is well enough for you to be cardmaking once more. :o)
    Hugs to all!

  2. I like the first one the most. Don’t know why, just do. Hope your snow is gone – fortunately it missed us – although this has been the winter that JUST WONT END. Your work is, as always, beautiful. Have a wonderful week!

  3. I like them all, the paper is very pretty and colors are wonderful together.
We didn’t get any snow, but of course you know I am not jealous of you getting some. : )
We got very strong and high winds that done damage in the areas around us and rain and rain and more rain. Did I mentioned it rained? : )
Now I see the sun peeking out . . . woohoo I might be able to get outside today.

  4. I love this set and DSP. I especially liked the first card. Nice combination. I hope Spring is finally coming your way. It’s beautiful here. Although we are still getting some mild showers. Happy Easter!

  5. They are all very pretty, Jaydee! I think I like the second one the best, though. Not sure why…I think it makes the Old Olive pop a little more. I have a love/hate relationship with Pacific Point. Haha! Have a great day! 🙂
