More samples from the Minnesota Regional

Hi Everyone….

well… as you know… I havent had time, or been in a position medically, to stamp much recently… So, I thought I would pop in tonight with some more samples from the Minnesota Regionals.  This way, you get more cards for your visit 🙂

This set of samples includes some masculine cards, lots of owls! and some clean and simple cards

This next set contains a really cute punch art card, some clean and simple cards, and a couple of 3D items.

So, I hope you enjoyed the inspirations.  I know I enjoyed looking at them.  I loved the bookmark on this one… It's really very pretty.

I couldn't go tonight without sharing this picture with you… mmmm… me thinks that Charlie is one lucky cat!  It's unlikely that he would have survived winter out in the corn fields.  He was a very lucky little cat the day that Lou rode past him.  Think he's comfortable?

On a personal note:

Sometimes I read things in the news that really make me think.  Things that stay with me and worry away in a little piece of my brain even when I am doing other things.  Something that reaches out and touches my very soul.  Stories that make my heart ache.

I saw a headline today and couldn't stop myself from reading it.  The story of the NY mother of four who drove her van into the river brought tears to my eyes and a heaviness to my heart.  You can see the story here.  My mother was a manic depressive with suicidal tendencies.  My first husband was bi-polar.  My very favorite uncle spent many months in a psych ward for depression.  My brother-in-law committed suicide.

Consequently, mental illness is a disease which is very near to my heart, and when I read stories like this… of a woman who was, by all accounts passionate about her children, and doing the best that she could under the circumstances, it makes me stop and think how lucky so many of us are.  What drives a mother to a point where she can no longer face life and feels that her children would be better off dead with her, than left with someone else.  I felt so sad for her, her children, and the family she left behind.  Especially her oldest son.  He  will live with that for the rest of his life.  I hope they can all find some peace.

On a lighter note… there are stories I read that make me scratch my head.  I swear I look at the screen and there is a huge comic-style question mark above my head and I can hear my step-daughter saying, "what the heck!"  This story is one of those.  Seriously, stopping for lunch at McDonalds drive through when you are being chased by the police?  mmmmm… 🙂

And on that note… I need to go feed the kitties and go cook myself some dinner.  Before I go… Anne Marie… I loved the story of your neighbour and her "So Saffron" vespa!

Warm hugs and prayers tonight for those who need a little lift.

As always… thank you for spending a little time in my area of the stamping blogosphere, where your visits and comments are always greatly appreciated.

Have a fabulous Friday…. oh yeah!  It's FRIDAY!

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Hooray FRIDAY! Jaydee, I can’t even focus on a comment about the cards after that sweet kitty photo! I’m too distracted! Awww, Charlie! He looks VERY comfortable in his new digs! He’s very lucky that your husband scooped him up. Give him a hug from me. He looks a lot like my beloved kitty, Beans. I had her for 16 years and she looked a lot like Charlie. I called her my “cow kitty” because of her black and white markings.
I was very saddened by that news story, too. It is so hard to understand such a tragedy. 🙁 It truly makes you count your blessings, I agree.
PS: I will have to snap a photo of that Vespa for you soon! 🙂

  2. My Dear, dear Jaydee… I have been in a totally new world since the 16th of March, I sent you a Private e-mail about it!! I do come to your blog, but havn’t the time to write as I have limited access to internet, but this blog post of yours made me feel sad, and I know very well the pain from mental illnesses, and I whisper a prayer every moment of the day for people who suffer from it and the people associated with it. Hope you feel better soon! and I am doing fine even with my aches and pain, I am in a new world!! will write again soon! Hugs always! G

  3. Thank you for sharing your cards, Charlie, and stories. We have a bi-polar grandson. The meds he takes keep him in control and has allowed him to become a productive member of society. Your people are many more that need help and my prayers go out to them and you. Do love your site. Marge

  4. Okay, cutie patootie Charlie-Man and his fabulous kitty paw pads has utterly distracted me. There were cards? Really?? ;o) He just makes me want to squee. :o)
I saw that news story about the mom and her kids and I cried. Mental illness can be so very difficult for folks to understand and comprehend. I’m sure there are those that will condemn this woman–and, I have to say, it’s hard since she took her children with her–but, she deserves our pity and prayers.
That second story? Just fun-nee! :o)
Happy Friday to one and all! Germaine, I’m so delighted to hear from you and see you so chipper!
    Hugs!
