Paper Players Challenge # 35 – Herb Expressions

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday night.

The challenge across at the Paper Players this week is a sketch challenge by Lesley.  I chose to do something completely out of the norm for me.  Lots of frippery!

February Sketch Challenge 35

Lesley said that we could change up the card to a normal A2 size, so I chose to do that.  I also decided to do something very different with the three vertical elements.

I then decided it was time to get outside of my normal color "box", too and went with a two colors, plus a neutral.

Here's what I came up with:

Pp35 (3)

Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

  • Card stock:  Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
  • Inks:  Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz Markers, Concord Crush Classic Ink
  • Stamps:  Herb Expressions (113224)
  • Accessories:  Concord Crush ribbon, Vanilla Rosettes (118774), Basic Pearls (119247)

Now, it's over to you!  Don't forget to pop along to thepaperplayers challenge blog and check on the fabulous creations from our design team.

On a personal note:  We are expecting a major storm over the next 36 hours.  Thanks for the warning, Cherie!  We are expecting anything from 6-15 inches, along with some freezing rain.  Could be an interesting day tomorrow!  Sounds to me like a great day to get in some stamping time!

Prayers tonight for Rose, Adelle, Jan A, Germaine and for those of you who need a little lift.

Have a fabulous Sunday everyone.

  1. I love everything about this card…just simply beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us. Ugh to the snow and sleet! Yuck, stay away from Ohio, please? 🙂 Hope you have a great Sunday Jaydee.

  2. Gorgeous card Jaydee! Your trio of scrunchy ribbon is marvelous and I love how you’ve kept the rest of the design simple so as not to compete with their loveliness! Just noticed your center panel is matted in the same color as the card base–great look! I know “frippery” isn’t usually your style but you’ve managed to pull it off in a clean and elegant way–bravo! {hugs}

  3. Love this card, Jaydee!
I’m SO bad at sketch challenges. They really DO challenge me. I may have to play along this week just to stretch my wings a bit.
    Hugs!

  4. Stunning – I love your twist on the sketch with the ribbons! The colors are just fabulous as well.
