Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday night. I hope you are all having a great week so far.
Now.. I have to tell you that Lou came home tonight, stuck out his tongue and said…. "nah. nah. nah. nah. nah. Told you so! The Ladies all agreed with me!" He was talking about you all agreeing with him that the card from last night's post with the glitter was the best one.
Mmmm…. so, I decided to let him know how I feel about this – tongue in cheek of course! Actually, you all seemed to enjoy the gingerbread man card so much, I thought I would share another card made from the same set. Lou – this one is for you 🙂

A few of you have asked me to share some pics of our recent trip. We really did have an amazing time. So, if you will indulge me, I will share a few pics with you over the next week or so.
One of the trips that we did from the ship was to Giverny, the house and garden that were home to Monet. It was amazing walking around the now famous gardens and seeing how he had designed the garden and the juxtaposition of textures and light. Even though it was late Fall when we were there, you could still see the lilypads on the lilypond – although now the flowers were gone and the trees were changing color. It was spectacular. Even on a dull, grey day, it was still possible to be inspired.
Inside the house was even more amazing. The house is filled with copies of some of his famous works. Standing in his study, his bedroom and his dining room, you can see the colors that he chose to show off his work. I was amazed by the amount of light streaming in through the windows and the views. It was amazing.

To really see how he planted arrangements together, you need to get closer to see the differences in colors and shapes. Even though the garden has had to be recreated, it was been done faithfully to his original design. It's really pretty amazing. I would love to see it in summer.

Then, one last picture for you. The bridge that many of you may recognize from the Japanese bridge series. Although the rebuilt bridge is not the beautiful arched one from his paintings.

Monet *swoon*. He is, by far, my most favorite impressionist artist. I’ve been to a number of Monet exhibits and I just stand there in awe of the beauty before me.
What inspiration he was surrounded by. Wow. Just…wow.
Thank you SO much for sharing these with us! I dream that one day I’ll make it to Monet’s garden and lily pond. Some day…
