I created tonight's card for the 2sketches4you challenge last week. Unfortunately, I didn't get to put up the card in time to meet the challenge deadline. None of you have ever had that problem, right?
This card is also an illustration of having things that you don't use very often and then thinking….mmmm… something isn't quite right here. I wanted to make the snow glisten with embossing powder. When I was applying the embossing powder I thought…mmmmm… don't remember it being this coarse before! Well duh! That's because I was using glitter and not the iridescent ice embossing powder. I thought you might want to see both versions – just in case you were wondering what it would look like with glitter instead of embossing powder! 🙂

You might also be able to see that I used the Snowflake stamp from the Confetti set on the first card – over the image – and on the background card stock, too. I decided not to do that on the second version.
When I showed them to Lou – he actually preferred the coarse glitter to the embossed iridescent ice.
I don't know whether it is my eyes tonight, but both of these pics look a little out of focus on part of the image. I may have been staring at my work PC for far too long today!
I really do love this image. There is something peaceful and serene about it and it is really easy to color using your markers. A little bling helps to bring the image alive and look more wintery.
Card recipe:
- Card stock: Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
- Stamps: Wish for Peace, Christmas Greetings (sentiment), Confetti (first card snowflakes)
- Accessories: Whisper White Organza Ribbon
- Tools: Versamark, white embossing powder, markers, (copic for the church), glitter for the first card, scallop border punch, stampin dimensionals, sponges
- Inks: Night sky: Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy. Trees: Always Artichoke. Cburch Steeple: Basic Grey. Church window: Copics
On a personal note: I don't know about you, but I wasn't in a rush to get back to work this morning. I was ready for another day at home! :-) Some of you got some great bargains this weekend – Adelle sorry to hear about your storage. It took me forever to decide what I wanted for storage – and had 3 different goes with various units before I got what I really wanted. Sometimes, you just have to get it home and use it to know whether it's right for you or not.
Marge, congratulations on becoming an SU demo. It really is a great time to join up right now – even if all you do it for is the fabulous discount on the starter kit. Ha! How often have I created cards for challenges and then missed the deadlines…? Yeah, that NEVER happens to me. Nope. Never. :oP
You know what? I’m with Lou, I like the coarser glitter. I’m not sure why. I also like the confetti snow in the first one. It looks as if there is a heavy, wet snowfall and reminds me of that muted quiet peacefulness that comes with it.
It’s funny, because I typically favor less complicated cards. Hm. I suppose there is an exception to every rule…;o)

Hi Jaydee! Both cards are absolutely beautiful but I think I agree with the other ladies- the first one is my favorite! I also agree with Rach about the confetti snow! It’s the first thing I noticed on the 1st card!
Jaydee, you’re not going to believe this! I also signed up with Stampin’ Up! I did it for the discount! You know I’m too shy to do it as a business. The only thing that scares me is meeting that quota every quarter! But if I can’t maybe then get up some outside orders if I have to! I don’t know we will see!

Yes, I agree with the signing up to be a Demo . . . best time ever! Price is right and holidays and not to mention the SAB coming up in Jan 2011!
