Hi everyone.
Happy Saturday. Tonight's card was the one I created for the Paper Players Challenge #25. It is Nance's turn to host the challenge this week and she designed this great sketch for us to work with. Now, the key thing about this sketch…. if you don't like circles – no problem – use any shape you like. You can see that I decide to use one circle – and then an entirely different shape.
I managed to make 3 cards today. It was great to sit down at my space and actually create something. It took a little while to get going – and I was in the mood for clean and simple. So, for you clean and simple lovers – the next three cards fit that mold.
Here's Nance's sketch:
And here's what I came up with:
Card recipe – all supplies Stampin' Up!:
- Card stock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
- Stamp Set: Peaceful Season
- Tools: Versamark, gold embossing powder, paper snips, heat tool
Card instructions:
- Cut card stock to A2 – fold on the side
- Cut Cherry Cobbler horizontal layer to 2" x 5 1/2
- Cut Very Vanilla horizontal layer to 1 3/4 x 5 1/2
- Adhere Cherry Cobbler layer to base with snail
- Ink up Peace on Earth sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and place onto Very Vanilla layer using your Stamp-a-ma-jig
- Ink up the globe – and only part of the sting and stamp onto the Very Vanilla layer
- Ink up the dove of peace in versamark and cover in embossing powder. Heat set.
- Snip out the dove and then adhere above the globe using Stampin' Dimensionals

Now, it's your turn. All you need to do is visit us at thepaperplayers.blogspot.com after about 2am Sunday 11/21 and the link will be active. You will also be able to see all the other great cards from the design team.
We really do love visiting your creations everyweek, so please do play along. Remember, you are welcome to use ANY brand of stamps.
On a personal note: I am starting to feel a little more normal health wise today. I still get out of breath very easily, but at least it is getting better! Tomorrow, I need to clean out the basement so that the furnace guys can come in and put in the new furnace on Monday. Finally, heat in the house! I also need to do some housecleaning. I don't know about you, but I actually do enjoy cleaning house – there is something very immediate about the gratification. The toilets are all clean and shining, the floors the same. The countertops all squeaky clean…….mmmmm… dosn't stay that way long, does it! I really wish I could do a Samantha on betwitched and wiggle my nose. Well, I can actually wiggle my nose – I practiced a lot as a child, however, I never did manage to get anything to happen when I wiggled it!
Prayers to all of you who need a little lift tonight. I hope that you are all getting ready to spend some good quality time with your friends and family. It's a perfect time of year to gather together with those you love and give thanks for all the things that have happened during the year. If you are traveling, travel carefully.
Hugs
Jaydee
