Hi Everyone.
I saw this set and couldn't resist it… I had a couple of people in mind who I knew would appreciate a card from this set. So, the first one is a work colleague, who turns 50 this week! I saw this fabulous Folk Art painting on the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie….. wow… what a gorgeous painting! Anyway, I saw it – immediately thought of this set…. and away I went.
There is such a quirkiness about this stamp set that makes it ideal for certain people in my life! Once again, the red farm barns make an appearance (see my post last night for the reason as to why red farm barns are important in my life :-))
Card recipe:
- Card stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
- Stamp set: The Funny Farm, Gina K designs
- Inks: Copics
Card instructions:
- Card base is A2 – scored and folded on the side
- I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using Copic markers
- I stamped 3 cows and colored them each a little differently. I used my paper snips to cut them out
- Once the background had been colored, I adhered two of the cows using Stampin' Dimensionals and one directly to the card base (the middle one)
- The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black (because I had colored using Copics)
- I adhered the top layer and the Cherry Cobbler layer using Stampin' Dimensionals
I hope you enjoy this little bit of whimsy. I hope that Al enjoys his 50th birthday card!
On a personal note: It has been beautiful here the last two days. Way beyond average temperature wise. We managed to sit on our deck on Friday night until midnight. We listened to our new fountain, looked at our new lighting, and enjoyed the warmth and the gentle breeze. It was fabulous. A great start to the weekend. Yesterday, our anniversary, was chaos, but our celebration was wonderful. I promise, that tomorrow, I will dig out a couple of photographs to share with you.
I managed to make a couple of cards today. I even mounted my Shalom Sayings and put that to good use. My Hanukkah cards are simple and nothing compared to the absolutely amazing Hanukkah cards that Beth created. They were truly works of art. I tried to use the simplicity of the Israeli flag as my inspiration for the cards that I created for troops of the Jewish faith as part of our Operation Write Home card drive. This weekend Brenda, Cherie and I are meeting up and will be finishing up the last of the cards.
Prayers tonight for Germaine, T, Pri. John & Sue. For Adelle, Lesley, Rach and their furbabies and for those of you who need a little life.

Oh I do love this card, you put it together wonderfully well! Red barns reminds me of the time I travelled through parts of Sth Dakota!

Adorable! I have a few people that I could use those for. Ya know us . . . we come from a town that a tractor and 4 cars is a traffic jam!

This card is so different from what we usually see here! No bows, no pearls, etc! I love that you were able to step away from your “comfort” zone and create this! It is such a cute piece of art! Wonderful use of the stamp set! Way to go Jaydee!

This is too funny and I know the recipient is going to love it. How could they not? Although it’s not one of your more “typical”, elegant cards, it’s still clean and simple and has your mark on it. :o)
Well, it’s gotten hot here again. :sigh: The lovely fall temperatures are supposed to reappear by mid-week so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
