Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night. I hope you all had a great day. Tonight's card was actually created for the CAS-tastic challenge. The challenge was to create a blue and white card with a little bit of yellow. Well, I managed to follow the instructions - a clean and simple card with those colors…. what I didn't manage to do is get the card loaded for the challenge before they closed the linky… One day, I'm going to get my timing right :-)
Actually, I made two cards for this challenge, so you will get to see them both over the next couple of days… they are very different cards and use very different stamp sets.
tonight's set, is the level 2 hostess set – Cute by the Inch. So, it is a sneak peek for one more night! The catty should be loaded and available sometime after 2am MST. For my customers, the care packets are almost complete – I have a couple of things still left to finish up and they will be packaged up, wrapped in a bow and sent off to their new homes. For my non-client blog visitors, next week, I'll show you some of the things that I put together. I really did have great fun putting together the packages.
So, here's tonight's clean and simple blue and white, with a little bit of yellow, card.
Card recipe:
- Card stock: Whisper White, Pacific Point
- Stamp set: Cute by the Inch, FYI (sentiment)
- Inks: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight (markers)
- Accessories: Ice rhinestone, Daffodil Delight ribbon
- Tools: 1" punch, 1 1/4" punch, scoring board
Card instructions:
- Punch 4 squares of Pacific Point card stock with the 1 1/4" punch
- Ink up the pattern stamp with Pacific Point marker
- Ink up the bird/thinking of you stamp with Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point inks and stamp onto Whisper White card stock. Punch out with the 1" punch
- Stamp the sentiment from the FYI stamp set "you make me smile" onto the card base using Pacific Point ink.
- Score two lines 1/4" apart above the sentiment and wrap a piece of Daffodil Delight ribbon around the card. Secure to the card base. Remove the legs from the rhinestone brad and secure to the card stock using your favorite glue or lots of little mini glue dots 🙂
- Adhere the 1" squares to the 1 1/4" squares using snail. The adhere the finished squares to the card base using dimensionals.
Tips:
- Use a T-square and your black SU cutting mat (or whatever mat you use that has measurements. It really does help tremendously when positioning things like this. Mind you… my top one wasn't quite perfect. But considering my inability to do anything in a straight line – it's considerably better than when I don't use the t-square
- The 4 square layout is a classic clean and simple fall to layout – you have seen me use it many times.
- The new thin ribbon is perfect with the inchies. Anything wider would draw too much away from the stamped images.
On a personal note: It's cool again tonight- but that hasn't been enough to kill the mossies off! They are biting me as I sit on the deck trying to finish off this post. The fireflies are dancing around the garden – what amazing little things they are. They absolutely fascinate me. Mother Nature certainly knows how to put on a wonderous show! Perfect!
I'm off to try to finish up my care packages and also read through my order for tomorrow. There are a couple of absolutely must have sets for me and I can't wait to play with them. I am also ordering some accessories and, of course, much more paper! So, I am all excited about that. Unfortunately tomorrow is going to be a very long day at my day job…. we really need to win the lottery!!! – so I won't get much chance to run through my list tomorrow to make sure it's OK.. so I have to do it tonight.
This weekend, we will be doing things around the house and going to get a water fountain for the garden next to the deck and doing all sorts of fun things like that! I'm off for most of next week – apart from some meetings I have to attend, and am hoping to get lots of time in my stamping space.
NOW>>>>>> QUESTION for you all…… (thanks to Trish who has already sent me an email giving me her thoughts)…. .I am really looking for feedback on what you would like to see on my blog. And… if there is anything that you wouldn't miss if you didn't see it again… I'd like to hear about that too. It is my belief that blogs should evolve, but not too far away from what makes it what it is. So, please could I ask you to think about it and send me an email – or leave a message. I will share with you all some of the thoughts that you have sent to me. Missy – you will be pleased to know that Trish thought about you when she sent me her suggestions… she said the one thing I should do is a video on how to tie bows 🙂
So, please let me know what you think…. I really would appreciate it.
Prayers tonight for Trish, Germaine, Pri, "T", Missy, Rach and Arthur. Robin – still thinking about you and hope that things go well tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone. If any of you are traveling tomorrow, travel safe. Otherwise, have a day filled with love, laughter and time spent doing the things you love – with those you love the most.
As always, thank you for spending s a little time in my area of the stamping blogosphere. Your visits are always much appreciated.
Hugs
Jaydee

Love the card! so simple and pretty!
Yes, yes, yes for a video on how to tie perfect bows! I was going to say that before I read what others had said!! I will think about what else I would like to see. I just think that your blog is so great and inspiring, I would not change anything you already have. I appreciate the time you put into it and giving us the directions, etc. Thanks Jaydee!
This card is so cute! Love those colors!
Thank you Trish for thinking of me! You know how I feel about your bows! And it would be awesome to see you make them! I personally love your blog the way it is so I wouldn’t take anything away! I love the tips and you giving the instructions on how you did the card! If I suggested anything that would help me it would probably be some videos of you making the awesome cards that you make! Oh, and I would love to see your scraproom of where your awesome creations are made! I am so grateful for you Jaydee! I love your site and all you do for us every single day! Your site is AWESOME! And I really have tried to think of things I would love to see but the truth is I can’t really think of anything else! I love it like it is! Love ya girlfriend!
I think you do a fantastic job with your blog. I don’t know how you have the time every day to make and post something and still work. I am retired and would not take the time to do all that you do for us that love reading/following your blog. The directions are important and also I like that you can look up ideas according to the stamp set name. I wouldn’t change anything. For some reason, I get the blog in my email the following day and I look forward every morning to reading what you have done. Keep up the good work.
I think blue and yellow make such a lovely combination. :o)
As for the blog, tutorial videos might be nice–you know, to do in all that free time you have, lol! :oP
I’m beyond jealous of your cool temps as we’re still *melting* here in VA. :sigh:
Hugs and prayers to all. :o)
I love your blog just the way it is. All your SU creations are so inspiring and I like how you explain how to make each card. Your personal comments are so cute and make me feel a part of your life. I would love to see your stamping space and haven’t seen your yard and garden in a while. Just keep on doing a fine job like you do every day.
Thanks,
Oh, Jaydee, this is lovely!!! So pretty. AND I like that stamp set you used. You do sound like me….sometimes I get the card finished and then by the time I get it posted, the challenge is over!! Oh well…..
As far as your blog……PLEASE keep it just as it. I think it’s fabulous and would not change a thing. As far as seeing something else, the bow tutorial would be nice – That’s probably one of my downfalls (unless of course, I have the Bow-Easy in my hand!)
Anyway, keep the blog as is……just way too nice like it is now.
Lynn
Once again, love this card. I am a huge fan of the patchwork or quilt like cards. I need to invest in square punches (I usually use my cutter). I love the ribbon and the fact that you used my new favorite color Daffodil Delight!!! I’d have to think about what to change because I love your blog so much. Maybe show a step by step on one of your cards…mainly because I’m so visual. Have a great holiday weekend.
What I like about your blog is your daily post. I look forward to visiting your blog. Of course, what catches my eyes are your cards. The more I look at it the more I continue to read on to get to know you a bit. I appreciate your sharing of the other non-stamping side of your life. To be honest, I am kind of lazy reading through the blog unless I am curious about how the card is made and want to know more. So then I would read on for more info. I am in front of a computer during the day working so by the end of the day, I just want to relax and “look” at cards rather than reading (if you know what I mean).
I wouldn’t change a thing about your blog. I would, however, love to see video on the cards that you make. I like the recipe of the cards, as well as tips you offer. As I have commented before, I love your simple and clean cards. I have a hard time with that and am in awe when I see your cards. Also, I enjoy participating on doing a sketch (such as PPA, APP, SSC). I get to use my stamps set and have some fun that way. Most of the time, I don’t use those cards from these sketches and the card drive such as yours is perfect for such occassions. So thank you. Any request to make or send cards out, I am happy to do that.
Thank you Jaydee for all you do and sharing your cards with us.
Hi Jaydee, love this card. Blue, yellow and white are the colors of my bedroom. So crisp and fresh all of the time. I also have this Stamp Set and can’t wait to see what I can do with it. I was so glad when SU! came up with an Inchie Stamp Set. Really like the coloring of the Bird, branch and Sentiment. Also love the narrow ribbon and the rhinestone brad. The brad just matches perfectly. A fantastic job, once again. This is going under my “favorites” card list. It may be simple, but it sure packs a punch.
Prayers and Well Wishes to All.
