Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday night. Tomorrow is the penultimate day before my vacation time! Oh yeah!
Tonight's card is hot off the press using the new Level 1 hostess set from the Summer Mini called "It's the Thought". I fell in love with this set the minute I saw the preview. Mind you, I love both the hostess sets from the new mini.
I take no credit for the design of this card….. it comes straight out of the demo only magazine. I thought it was hysterical and knew that there were several people I could send this to this past two weeks to apologize for having been, well…. crabby!
Isn't it hysterical? It brought back memories from many years ago. I was on vacation in Mauritius in the late 80's with my first husband. The restaurant at the hotel we were staying it was right on the beach and was not enclosed. Every night we sat and watched the crabs fight their territorial battles on the beach. The crabs closest to the water line were the alpha crabs and the crabs up the beach used to run down, try to steal a crab house closer to the water and there would be much clashing of claws before the battle was decided. We spent every evening fascinated watching this activity, which had been going on for thousands of years on this little bit of beach.
But… you want to know what made me laugh about this set…. well, if this does, in fact depict the fiddler crab, then it's only the males that have an enlarged claw! So, I'm thinking that my hubby should be sending me this card instead 🙂

Brenda and Cherie, congratulations on finishing your half marathon on Sunday. More importantly, congratulations on inspiring and training others to do it with you. I am so proud of both of you. That is an amazing achievement!

I'm thinking about doing another card drive draw in exchange for goodies from the new catty. Some of you may remember that earlier in the year I did a card drive for the troops and for the children of hugsandhope. Crafters who sent me 10 hand-crafted cards were entered into a draw for a BIG SHOT. I'm considering doing a similar deal. I only want to do it though if some of you are considering participating. Please would you leave a comment, or send me an email and let me know if you would be interested in participating, so that I can gauge whether or not it is worth doing it.

I love this card. I need to make one and send it to the people at Starbuck’s. Unfortunately there is 1 bad apple in their group that pushed me to send a comment to corporate office! I got “whinner” coupons in return. I had to go out of town to use them so that they would not know it was me! Such a life-I am learning how funny little things can be.
Count me in on your card drive, however I do not have much left over from your last drive. I guess I had better get busy! Work hard so that vacation will be fun.
Hi Jaydee and to All, this card is marvelous. Love the colors, especially the Crabs. Like how you shaded the edges of the sand, and the circles are a great addition. You are always so creative with just the right touch. I really like the one Crab crawling out of his sand hole, very cute.
Oh Germaine, I wish there were a magic potion for you. I continue to Pray and ask that you get some relief soon.

I know that work is not that bad when you are getting close to a vacation. The only bad part is that it seems to drag on and on. Vacation time will be here soon and then you can PARTY!

I would love to help with another card drive. I don’t know if I will have as many to offer as last time but every little bit helps, right! I hope this means we can have another playdate to go through and package up the cards. Apart from helping the wonderful causes you chose, that was the best part!
Jaydee, LOVE IT! I could certainly use a large stash of these cards; would probably need more of them than b-day and T-Y cards combined! I really like this set as well, especially the giraffe (gee, what a surpise!) and just may have to have another workshop before Sept.
Thanks for the bravo regarding the half–Brenda pulled me through to another awesome finish. I couln’t do it without her! Running down the player’s tunnel and out on to !!LAMBEAU FIELD!! was the cherry on top of a day spent with such an amazing friend.
