Introducing Cherry Cobbler

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday night!  Oh yes… tomorrow is my last day at work until 6/3!  I wish you could see me doing the happy dance.  Well, maybe not… me dancing is not something you want to see.  Something to which Cherie and Brenda can attest!

I've been saving my Cherry Cobbler – one of the new colors being introduced in July – for a special card.  I've really been wanting to use it with black and white.  I find that Real Red is a little strong for many of the things I want to do with Black and White.

I did a card for the Featured Stamper FS171 across on splitcoast this weekend.  One of the very few challenge cards I did get made this week!  I loved this card.  I really… really loved it.  Now.. the whole thing about featured stamper challenges is that you have to change at least two things about the card.  In this case I changed the image, the color of the ribbon and added pearls to the flowers as well as the rhinestones.

Let me tell you… I am IN LOVE with Cherry Cobbler….. and I am really, really, really hoping that Close as a Memory isn't one of the sets that will retire in July!

Cherrycobbler

It's rich and saturated.  I used it for another card, but you can't see that yet – because it was a card I made for Lou.  So you will only be able to take a look at it after he gets home tomorrow.

Talking about getting home…. His plane left Malaysia.  Now we just need his connecting plane to leave Amsterdam.  If he gets home tomorrow without delays, it's going to be the first time in a long time that he has managed to achieve that!

This card is really easy.  You can adopt this layout to bright colors, the naturals, summer, fall – showcase any of the nature sets that you want.  I'll definitely be using this layout again.

It's going to be a very quick post for you tonight….I need to go and do a whole host of things, not least of which is finish up some work stuff so that I can go on vacation tomorrow.

I hope you all have a fabulous Thursday.  As always, I really appreciate your visit, your support and your comments.  I'm thinking about the timing for the card drive give-away.  As a few of you have already said you will participate, I will go ahead and do it.  I'll post more details about it this weekend.

Hugs to you all

Jaydee

    Lesley 😉

  3. Jaydee – What a fabulous card. I too think Cherry Cobbler is going to be one of my all time favorite colors. (I spent some one-on-one time with Shelli (SU) and asked her what her favorite color is……She told me it was Cherry Cobbler) SO…..Good pick on this card.

  4. Totally love the crisp, clean look of this beautiful card. I think I may have to do a version of my own!!

  5. Oh Jaydee, Love your card, and the colours too!! Thank you to all of you ladies for thinking of me and praying for me to get better….. You made me laugh Jaydee, about Lou’s flight and getting back home!! Chris too travelled a lot and I use to track all flights to know whether he was going to make his connections or not! So, I hope he will be home soon and you can enjoy your vacation! relax, relax, will be thinking of you!
Trish, thank you – I have wished many times too for that magic portion!! also, I cannot take too many painkillers, as I am allergic to the powerful ones! so I am stuck on very low doses too! Hope you are doing well! praying for you.
Cherie and Beth thank you for your wishes and prayers too! Lots of love to all! Have fun Jaydee on your vacation…

  6. Love the look of the Cherry Cobbler with black and white! I can hardly wait to order more…since I greedily used up my sample of Cherry Cobbler right away! LOL Very pretty card indeed!

  7. Hi Jaydee, simply gracious looking card here today. Love the Cherry Cobbler with the Black and White. I really like the polka dots on the bottom part of the card, looks spectacular. Where does that DSP come from? Cute stamp set, will have to look into getting it before the new Catty comes out. I can’t wait for the that Retirement List, there is still a long, very long hand written page of Stamp Sets that I still want from this Catty. lol. Am I a hoot or what? Don’t know what I need them for, I just know that I have to have them. lol This fact does not make my DH too happy at all. In fact just the other day he asked me to quit buying Stamps for awhile. Can you imagine? That is like telling someone to stop breathing!!! My goodness, what could possibly be worse? lol Oop’s, I totally went off track there…I love the Pearls in the middle of each flower. Just love it when you use those Pearls. I think your Bow Tying is fabulous, and the addition of the button is just right. You always seem to know when “Just Right” is. You know when to add and when to stop adding. That is always a problem for me. I add, and add, and then think I need to add some more, and then I hate it! I don’t know when to enough is enough. Can’t wait to see the card you made for Lou. I bet it is marvelous, Darling. hee, hee. Don’t work yourself to death trying to finish up, Lou needs you now. lol Three Cheers for a Happy Vacation Time!!!! I do so hope Lou will make it home on time. Lou, are you listening? Your Little Lady has been waiting forever for you to get here! Please don’t mess things up now. lol
On an update, I now have Bronchitis. I am on Antibiotics for 10 days. Will hold off on Chemo until Bronchitis is gone and Lungs are clear.
Praying for Everyone and Jaydee, Lou, and the Furbabies.

  8. Great layout and wow to the colors! I love the black, white and red! Those were my daughter’s wedding colors and they always remind me of her wedding! ( She walked down a red carpet aisle runner!)Back to the card, it is so striking- the final touches of a bow, pearls, button all add up to a fabulous card!
Hope Lou gets home safely and quickly!

  9. Don’t let Jaydee fool you ladies–she can shake her bootie with the best of ’em! :o) Hope Lou is almost home now, I’ll bet that this beautiful weather has him wishing he were home already, Baby must be missing him! Enjoy your vacation, you deserve every mement of rest and relaxation you can fit into the next couple of weeks.
Today’s card is another hit! Cherry Cobler was one of the first colors I noticed on the new color chart and can’t wait to get my hands on some. I agree that it works perfectly with black and white. It will fun to see what DSP SU has in store with Cobler and those other fantastic new colors.
Have a great day One and All!
