Always on My Mind…… and blog candy update

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday Night.

Well, I didn't get much chance to spend in my stamping space today.  We decided to go visit a few of the new houses that have been built as part of the parade of homes.  Well, that was a really bad decision!  We ended up spending far more time out than we had anticipated and we only got back home at around 5pm.

One of the houses we saw will.. truly… always be on my mind:-)  The minute we drove up the forested street to the driveway and saw this prairie style house – I was hooked.  We walked in through the front door and I was, truly, gobsmacked.  Floor to ceiling windows where the view was nothing but trees.  A kitchen that is a cooks dream.  All professional appliances, zebra wood cupboards, swarovski crystal pendant lights, beech floors.  aaaaarrrrghhhh… to say I was in love was an understatement.  We walked around the house, and then around again, and around once more.  We didn't want to leave.  I kept walking into each room and saying ….. well, I won't repeat what I kept saying!  Let's just say it was just beautiful.  We met the builder on our third go round the rooms and told him what a beautiful job he had done.  He informed us that they had built the house for a couple in town and that they were moving in next week.   Lou and I didn't know whether to be relieved or to cry!

Even when we got back and I finally went downstairs to my space, my mind was more on the house and one of the lots that we had seen than on my cards!  Sigh.  So, where was I?  Oh yes…. cards!

Tonight's card uses a layout that you have seen me use before.  I paired up pink and brown again!  You may remember that you first saw this layout on my blooper card.  I love it.  It's a great way to show off DSP that you have bought, or one that you have made yourself!

I'll be back later with the deets on the card!

In the meantime, here's a look at the blog candy that you are commenting for:-)

Blogcandy

Isn't that Trendy Trees, totally recyclable, bottle just fabulous!  There's also a Stampin' Up! compact mirror, Stampin' Up! Pen, Stampin' Up! Soft Suede nail file, a pack of Bordering Blue card stock, a reel of Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon and a brand new, clear mount "Picture This" stamp set.  If you are the winner and you have the Picture This set, then we can take a look and see if there is something else that I have that you want.  So, don't forget, leave a comment.  The more comments, the more entries.  The draw will be conducted by Bilbo Baggins on April 30.

Well, my darling Lou is cooking dinner for me, it's starting to smell delicious.  Cherie and Brenda, I don't want to tell you, but I will anyway… we are having Mushrooms a la Lou! 🙂

Your prayers for Trish and Germaine must be paying off.  I have had emails from both of them saying how much better they are feeling.  They still have a long way to go, especially Trish, so please continue to add them to your prayer list.  :-)

I hope you have a fabulous Sunday, filled with all the wonderful things that make you happy.  Me… I will be seeing my honey off again!  Grrrrr…. and will be dreaming of the wonderful house we saw today.  There was even a fantastic space for my stamping room.  Mind you, the lot that we saw around the corner had an even better view.  It even had a resident blue bird!  That has to be a sign, right:-)

Big hugs to all of you

Jaydee

  1. The house sounds fabulous! And I like the layout for this card. I have a lot of DSP to use up before the new catalog come out, and this would be a perfect layout to use! TFS!

  2. When I was well one of our favorite things to do in the winter was to go and look at Newly Built Model Homes, there’s not much else to do. I know what you mean about falling in love with one particular house. Yours sounds dreamy, just perfect with all of the trees and big windows, the cook’s kitchen and a Stamping Space. The resident Blue Bird was most certainly a sign. In life you have to watch for signs, and many people miss them or don’t even know about them. I am a firm believer in signs, they lead our path. Oh, if only you could have the house, I would love to come and visit, but them maybe I would never want to leave. Lol. The Mushroom’s a la Lou sound delicious, even though I don’t know what they are, but I love mushrooms. I love the big mushrooms that you can buy and stuff them and bake them. Mmmmm, good. My DH doesn’t like mushrooms, which is fine with me, all the more that I can have. Lol. Your Blog Candy is fantastic and very generous of you. I would love to have the Green drinking bottle, the Bordering Blue Cardstock, and the Ribbon. Do you think that there is the remote chance that Bilbo Baggins will pick me? I am sending hopeful wishes to my Furry Friend as I type. Lol. I do like the Card for today. It is very simple yet striking. The DSP really is the focal point of the card. I like where you put the Satin Ribbon and the wavy Sentiment adds a lot of appeal. I don’t usually like pink, but this card is really pretty and very soothing. Another great job! I was wondering where you find all of your great Sketches to participate in. Do you surf Blogs randomly or is there an organized list someplace? It would be nice to be able to go to a Sketch to find some mojo on those days when the mind seems to need jump starting. Have a wonderful Sunday. So sad that Lou is leaving again. Seriously, get some rope and tie that man down! Lol.
Happy Cyber hugs, Trish in Wisconsin

  3. How very kind of you to share some blog candy with us! It is a nice assortment of goodies that would be fun to get in the mail!
I really like brown and pink together. I made some cards yesterday with brown and pink! The added effect of the embossing (or maybe it is something else) on top of the DSP looks great.
Looking at new houses can be dangerous! LOL! It is fun though!
    Enjoy your day!

  4. What perfect timing on this card. I am having a class on Tuesday and the focus of that class is DSP. Now I will have to see if I have enough of that paper left so I can CASE your card. Hopefully you got some inspiritation from the beautiful house you saw to bring it to your stamping space. Thanks for sharing all of your adventures.

  5. I love getting an email from you everyday with a new card you have made. If only I COULD stamp everyday like you do!!
Thanks for giving out blog candy to us. My fingers and toes are crossed in hoping I get picked by Bilbo Baggins.

  6. The house sounded wonderful. I spent the afternoon at the garden tour coveting what I do not have. This morning I got up and had a fresh look at my beautiful yard and doable house. The card was so clean and simple (my favorite). I love the pink and brown!

  13. Ah the lure of a new home…I know it well. My hubby used to give me a hard time because even days after we bought a new home I’d be looky looing at other homes for sale in the neighborhood or around town. I tried to tell him it was a girl thing (window shopping doesn’t mean you have to buy it right??)but he just didn’t have the right chromosomes to get that – hee, hee!
I’m loving your showcases of color and the simplicity of this card has me looking through my scap bag with an eye to creating a full set of cards for a friend.
Thanks Jaydee for spreading the joy of stamping and friendship.
kitty hugs to all the fur faces – Jean
