Sweet Harvest Pie & Apples for As You See It Challenge#354

Happy Monday.

I hope you all had a great weekend. It rained most of the weekend and this morning here, so it was a great excuse to find time to play in my craft room. I couldn’t wait to play with the newly released Altenew Sweet Harvest Layering Pie and apple stamp sets again. You can see the other cards I made with this set here and here.

I saw the challenge across at As You See It. I mean, the challenge is about picnics and what says picnics more than gingham and pies!

I had fun working with these days, but I have to tell you, I am no better at lacing a fake lattice pie top than I am with a real one! I die-cut all the pieces using either Alabaster or Stampin’ Up! Naturals cardstock. I colored each piece with my blending brushes and inks and then assembled them. The cooling rack was die-cut with Stampin’ Up! silver card stock.

I then stamped a corner of the apples and used my stencils to add some color. I wanted to make the scene feel like a picnic pie in an apple orchard.

I used some pink gingham paper from Scrapbook.com for the background and added the sentiment.

Here’s my card:

Honestly, I am obsessed with how real this pie looks – the dies produce the most amazing depth and dimension and a couple of different colors of brown help to create a just-baked feel.

I know the team across at As You Like it would love it if you played along and you have until the 21st to do so. There are also some amazing cards for your inspiration.

And here’s the badge for the challenge:

challenge #354

I’ll be back again tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Dies and Stamps: Sweet Harvest – Altenew
  • Cardstock: Hero Arts Alabaster, Stampin’ Up! Naturals and silver

Hugs

  1. This is the MOST REALISTIC paper pie I have ever seen! I cannot believe how you achieved such a fabulous look with just paper and ink! The apples look just as realistic too! AMAZING, Jaydee! You’ve outdone yourself for our challenge this week!

  2. Wow! I took one look at that pie and thought I could smell it baking in the oven, it looks so real, Jaydee! And apple pie is another favourite at picnics. I love your apple tree branch and pink gingham in the background, which totally adds to the picnic theme! Thanks for playing along with our theme challenge at As You See It Challenges.

  3. Jaydee, this is just THE most adorable paper pie I’ve ever seen! It looks so real, as do the apple slices on the side. The composition is amazing. Thank you for joining in with us this week at As You See It – and for the shout out of encouragement in your post. 🙂

  4. This is incredible!!! It looks like a real pie and apple! And the colors of your papers are so pretty too! I want a piece of that pie now…must go to the store.
