Flying Witch for Freshly Made Sketches 599

Happy Saturday.

I know.  I know.  Summer isn’t over yet and here I am showcasing a Halloween theme!  I can’t even believe it myself!  I found a European watercolor artist who makes gorgeous papers as well as some dies and a few stamps.  I found this die on sale at a local US based online store who carries Alexandra Renke and couldn’t resist it.  I might have to admit that a few other things seemed to have arrived in the box as well.  I honestly dont remember putting them in my basket at the time I was shopping for this die… I think I must have been bewitched 🙂  Sorry… couldn’t resist it.  Today’s card features the Flying Witch die from Alexandra Renke!

Don’t you love the detail on that moon?  It’s from a die that comes with the Stampin’ Up! Reach for the Stars die set!

Oh, and here’s the fabulous sketch from FreshlyMade.   It ws only when I came to load this post that I realized I had made the horizontal layer too long.  ugh!  Sorry, Jen M!

The base of the card is a Basic Black base.  For the middle portion of the sketch I took a piece of white card stock and covered it with multiple shades of blue, purple and black.  However, in the end, it turned out to be much more blended than I really wanted it to be!   For the moon, I die cut a moon that came with an old Hero Arts 2017 card kit.  I blended oranges and yellows to try to mimic a dark harvest moon and then added the details with the embossing dies from the Reach for the Stars die set.
I needed a horizontal panel but didn’t want to add another color.  So I took a piece of vellum and added detail to it with one of the embossing folders from the Stripes and Splatters embossing folder set from Stampin’ Up!
One thing I realized as I was getting ready to finish my card…… I don’t have a single Halloween set or sentiment!  Mmmmm…. I ended up trawling through my index book that has all of my stash recorded and realized that I had a Papertrey Ink sentiment that would work – even though it is actually a Christmas sentiment!  I finished off the card with a couple of bats from a die set called Bat Swarm – also from Alexandra Renke.  It was one of those that inexplicably found it’s way into my online basket 🙂

Isn’t she fabulous?  And, in the end, I think the sentiment works 🙂
