Large Leaves Palm for Festive Friday #FF00141

Happy Friday.

It’s another challenge across at Festive Friday this week.  Festive Friday is a card making challenge that celebrates/highlights a holiday or festivity from around the world.  For today’s challenge I was inspired to ink up a new die from The Greetery called “Large Leaves, Palm” and pair it with an old stamp set from the now defunct Fun Stamper’s Journey and a favorite embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! called Seabed.  Here’s a sneak peek of my card:

National Beach Day!  So, now you can see why I used seashells and that gorgeous embossing folder – oh… and what says beach more than palms!

For my card, I embossed a kraft base with the SU embossing folder.  I then embossed the shells from the Seaside Treasures set from FSJ with white embossing powder and blended some sandy colored ink over the white cardstock to make the shells pop a little.  I then die-cut and colored the palm leaf.  I die-cut three palm layers and layered them over each other to make them stronoger and to make them pop off the page a little.  I also mixed some inks and splattered the leaf and the shell layer to add a little more interest and texture.  All that was left was to add a sentiment tag and a little twine to attach it.

Here’s my card:

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what you create with our INSPO list.

As always, our design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

  1. Love this Jaydee! The natural, sandy colour immediately makes me think of the beach and I just love that embossed background. The heat embossed layer is also the perfect amount of detail to allow that fabulous bright green palm to shine. Gorgeous!
