Irresistible Blooms for Sketch Saturday

Happy Monday.

I have a quick post for you tonight featuring a new set I got from Stampin’ Up! called Irresistible Blooms.  I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to use it, so went looking for some inspiration and came across this sketch at Sketch Saturday that I thought was absolutely perfect for showcasing this set.

Here’s a sneak peek – and yes, there is PINK in my card – AGAIN!  Mind you, at least this is more peachy-pink 🙂

And here’s the sketch from Sketch Saturday.

I used three different shades of peachy-pink for the three blooms and two different shades of a lagoon for the leaves.  I also used one of the stamps from the set to create the dots in the background at the top and bottom of my arrangement.  I thought they helped to echo the movement from the sketch.  I needed a vertical element down the right hand side and realized that the “dot-dash” die in the matching die set would be perfect.  I die-cut that from white card stock and adhered it to the base.

I adhered and popped some of the flowers and added the sentiment and some jewels as a finishing touch.  I decided to add the main panel onto a lagoon base.  Here’s my card:

I confess to being a little obsessed with that “dot-dash” die cut and am wondering how else I can use it!
