Happy Sunday.
It’s the fabulous Joanne’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week. For my card I used a new to me set called Just My Type from Stampin’ Up! I also paired it with some DSP called Delightfully Eclectic.
The sketch forced me to use more layers than I normally would so it was the perfect excuse to use some of the DSP that I never seem to use enough of 🙂 I used the colors in the DSP to help determine the colors to use in the rest of my card. I stamped and fussy cut the old school typewriter – man that takes me back!!! I had fun working with this sketch.
Here’s our challenge for this week:
I like the offset elements of this sketch as they take me outside of my “must be symmetrical” comfort zone. Mind you, the DSP pretty much takes me out of my comfort zone, to but it is so pretty I couldn’t resist it!
Here’s my card:

I stamped the hello sentiment and then fussy cut around each of the letters and slightly overlapped each of them as I adhered them to the base. I wanted to add a little more interest to the card base so ran the black through my Cameo with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.
I hope you will join us and play along with Joanne’s sketch this week. We would love to see what you create. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
We FINALLY had a rain storm last night and it was amazing standing on the balcony listening to the wind whip around the buildings. The rain was so heavy at times it was an absolute sheet and the lightening would crack and roll across the sky. It really was amazing sitting so high up and watching the storm. I captured a short video of it but, on playback, I realized I had the sound down on my phone so it didn’t capture any of the noises!!! The world always feels so different after a good storm!
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card in my 10 from 1 challenge to myself. So, tomorrow will be day 5 of Reach for the Stars. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Adorable, Jaydee! The floral paper is so cheery. Great colors! The “hello” sentiment is amazing. What a wonderful job of fussy cutting! I love the fury and majesty of a storm, as long as there are no winds associated with it. Have a wonderful week!
Well, my sketch may have taken you out of your comfort zone Jaydee but it is fair to say, you knocked it right out of the park!! So much to love about your card: that cute typewriter, fabulous DSP choices and the black base and ‘hello’ make a great contrast. I LOVE it – my favourite card this week!
I love everything about this card! That typewriter is so fun with the big letters and flowery DSP, and the TimeWorn Type EF adds just the right extra touch!
Jaydee, Your card is just fabulous. I love the DSP you picked, The yellow typewriter looks great backed by the pink background. So fun!
