It’s the fabulous Anne Marie’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a fun theme for us. I was inspired to use a new set I purchased from Stampin’ Up called Share a Milkshake. Now, I know that technically some people say you drink a milkshake, but I like mine thick and I like to eat them with a spoon. None of those weak drinks that you can suck up through a straw for me. My favorite is strawberry and I like them with lots of cream on top:-) Nothing better on a hot summer’s day 🙂
And here is Anne Marie’s challenge:
As this is a clean and simple challenge I kept the elements to a minimum. I used the dies from the matching set for the background and used some splatters to add a little interest to the base. Of course, because I like strawberry milkshakes, the elements had to be pink! I added some shimmer and shine with a wink of stella pen. Here’s my card:

On a personal note:
One of the other great things about our cruise was the guest speakers they had on board. Now, we’ve heard guest speakers on board cruises before but haven’t been that impressed. It’s always felt more about a somewhat interesting passenger who happened to have purchased a ticket and was on board. The ones on our recent cruise definitely seemed much more than that. We had a Broadway producer who have several talks about some of the key plays/musicals that have appeared on Broadway and some of the background stories. We had a writer for the show The Simpsons who shared insights into the making of the show and what it’s like to be a comedy writer who isn’t a comedian. Personally, I am not a fan of the Simpsons and I didn’t find him particularly funny, but I think it must have been great for those who were fans. For me the highlight speaker was an astronaut who had spent over 50 days in space, had done a couple of space walks, spent time on the space station and just loved what he did.
So, that introduction gives you a little insight into my next 10 cards in 10 (or so) days. I made 10 cards with the Reach for the Stars Bundle from Stampin’ Up! To be honest, it was the DSP that I fell in love with. It is gorgeous paper. You have already seen two cards I made with this kit, but I have several more coming in the next couple of weeks. Some showcases the stamps and dies and a couple really showcase that gorgeous DSP.

Jaydee, your cards are always fabulous! Your strawberry milkshake looks so yummy. The die cut and the splatters make the perfect backdrop for your frothy glass of goodness. I LOVE the accents by the straw. And yep…I will admit it: Looking at your card has given me a craving for a milkshake!
Jaydee, it’s 9:30 at night and still more than 85 degrees outside and your strawberry milkshake would really hit the spot right now! What a great card – especially love that bright pink enamel dot and the background sprinkles. Great card!

I’m right there with you Jaydee! Milkshakes are meant to be eaten with a spoon and this one looks pretty yummy! Love the pretty pinks with that little pop of yellow in the background. Such a sweet card…pun intended. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week!
