Happy Thursday – again 🙂
I have another card for you today that I made using the Retro Bicycle set from Altenew. I saw this great sketch across at Freshly Made and thought the bicycle would work well for it. I paired it with a new background die that I got as part of my prize for a challenge that I won across at Time Out. It’s from Lawn Fawn and is called Sunburst Backdrop.
Here’s a sneak peek:

Oh, I love me a good punny sentiment:-)
Here’s the sketch from Freshly Made:

It’s not often I made square cards, so I was thrilled to see Jen’s sketch was a square. I began my card by stamping the bike elements and then die-cutting them with the matching die. I love this set, but I do wish that the die cut out the spokes! That would have made it extra cool:-)
I then die-cut the Sunburst background and cut it to 4×4. I wanted the center offset as it would have been almost fully covered by the bike had I placed it center.
I used my yelow/orange inks to blend a sunny background on the card base and added a little of the same color around the edges of the circle. I added the sentiment and then adhered the bike to the card.
Here’s my full card:

I know the team across at Freshly Made would love it if you played along, and you have a few more days left to do just that!
I’ll be back tomorrow with my Festive Friday card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Stamps/Dies: Retro Bicycle – Altenew
- Background die: Sunburst Backdrop – Lawn Fawn

I love how the bicycle works for this sketch, Jaydee! You’ve colried it so beautifully. The sun in the background is a brilliant (pun intended) idea!
Great take on the sketch, Jaydee! I have that bicycle image but never used it. I wish the spokes were open, too!
What a wonderful way to use the bicycle for the sketch! Great interpretation and execution
I really am beginning to feel quite envious of your stamp and die collection, Jay Dee! I love the colours of the bike. Having it emerge from the page, with the sun shining behind it makes me itch to hop and go for a ride! Lovely card. 🙂
This is such a fun take on the sketch! That bicycle looks fabulous! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
