Happy Friday – again!
I got to play in my craft room and saw this sketch across at Atlantic Hearts Sketch. I was intrigued by the top of the sketch and realized that my newly arrived Puffy Cloud Backdrop from Lawn Fawn might work. Then, I had to find items to go with it, and that’s when I realized my Pooh and Friends dies might work 🙂
Here’s a sneak peek:

I got this background die as part of a prize I received from winning a recent Time Out challenge. Nothing better than winning a prize, right? 🙂
Here’s the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

I wasn’t sure how I was going to fit in the horizontal layer with an element on the right side, but realized I could use my grassy edges die to create that element and a nice pot of hunny in Pooh’s hand would work for the element on the right side!
I die-cut the background and then cut off the bottom clouds that I didn’t need. I used those as the stencil to create the cloudy shadows on the die-cut.
I die-cut the balloon from vellum and colored it with my Copic markers. I added a “it’s your birthday” sentiment from an old Alexandra Renke stamp set onto the balloon. I tried the balloon with a piece of normal cardstock, but it just didn’t have the light and airy feel that I wanted from the balloon.
I die-cut Pooh and added some shading. I did the same with the hunny pot. I added the die-cut grass to the bottom of the card and adhered all the pieces, finishing off with a stamped sentiment – also from the same Alexandra Renke set. I finished everything off with a glitter cardstock string for the balloon.
Here’s my card:

This is one of the cards that will be going off to Creative Kindness in a couple of months. I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Pooh and Friends – Spellbinders
- Stamps: Birthday – Alexandra Renka
Hugs

Oh my goodness, how cute is this! Your clouds at the top make for a great way to interpret the sketch, but that Pooh and his honey pot steal the show! Just adorable! Thanks for using our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week!
