Hearts at Home Toaster for Festive Friday #FF0132

Happy Friday.

We have another INSPO list for you at Festive Friday – our bi-weekly card making challenge.  Every two weeks we celebrate a new holiday and this week we have one that is very dear to my heart – Global Pay it Forward Day.  Who can argue with celebrating that:-)   Even if you don’t make a project that ties directly to the holiday, all you need to do is use three items from our INSPO list on your creation.  Easy peasy!

For my card this week, I used a die and stamp set I got from The Greetery earlier this year.  I was making a Valentine’s Day card for Lou and the INSPO list provided me with three items: hearts, blue and markers!

There’s a story behind the color of this toaster – but more about that in a minute.  Here’s our INSPO list for your:

This card came together really quickly.  All I had to do was die-cut the individual pieces and color them.  I blended some blue ink for the base to ground the toaster, added the sentiment and popped up the focal images on foam dots.  Really simple.

Here’s my card:

This punny sentiment just makes me laugh!  Hot toast and warm butter are just the perfect combination for me!  But, I like my toast really toasted – hence the dark coloring on my toast on this card.  So, what’s the story with the color?  ah….. this dark duck egg bluish color is my favorite color in the whole world.  We were looking for a new toaster and a new kettle and I found both of those, in my favorite color at a big box store!  So, of course, I had to buy those.  Here’s a view of the inspiration toaster – although the color is much darker and richer in real life!  I hope you will see the inspiration reflected in my color choices for my card 🙂

The kettle is awesome.  It even has different temperatures for the different types of tea!  Obviously designed in England 🙂

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what you create.  As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you.

I’ll be back on Sunday with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

  1. That is just the cutest, so funny what can inspire you when you’re creating!

  2. Am envious of your toaster and love your card this time! Stay warm…I notice the trees are budding. That’s progress even with some snow on the rooftops. Hugs.

  3. I love your card! And thank you for the fun story of your toaster. That is a great color. Of course I had to think of the story of The Brave Little Toaster by Thomas M. Disch. Very fun.
