Crafty Hands, Paper Goods and Tools of the Trade for Paper Players #636

Happy Sunday!

It’s the fabulous LeAnne’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s Clean and Simple week.  LeAnne’s challenge was the perfect excuse to get out some dies that I got from MFTStamps a little while ago as part of a card kit.  I used three sets of dies – Paper Goods, Crafty Hands and Tools of the Trade.

Here’s LeAnne’s challenge:

Tbe Tools of the Trade die set contains many of the images that LeAnne called out in her challenge, but I decided to go with scissors as there is a gret sentiment in the accompanying sentiment set, Crafty Friends.
I also pulled out two of my favorite goodies from The Greetery – the Postal Frames die and stamps from the Pretty Postmarks stamp set.  It was also another great excuse to pull out some retired SU paper called Sweet Talk.  In fact, I can honestly say, that this particular DSP is the sole reason I have used pink and purple on so many cards in the last couple of weeks!  It really is such gorgeous DSP!
I die cut and assembled all the elements, stamped the sentiment and then adhered the elements to the focal layer and base layer.  Really simple!  The hardest part was assembling 4 layers of scissors:-)  I wanted them to pop off the card base so I die-cut 3 of the scissors in 110# card stock and then one layer in a piece of the Sweet Talk DSP.

On a personal notre:

I am so glad that my Paper Players card from last week evoked memories for some of you!  I loved reading about those memories, from extending the cord as far as you could to have a private conversation, to the days of party lines when neighbors could listen in and pink phones that were owned by special people.  There really was something magical about being tethered to a specific point and having to focus on that and not being distracted by everything associated with mobile phones today!

Well, the weather reached unprecedented temperatures here this week.  We had temperatures in the high 80s – unheard of for this time of the year.  Ttoday?  Back in the 30s and we are under a Winter Weather Advisory and are expecting anything from 1-3 inches of snow!  It seems that winter has decided not to let go just yet!  Grrrr 🙂

I’m hoping to get into my craft area and do some crafting this week.  If I do, then I will have some cards to share with you.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
