Happy Sunday
It's my pleasure to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's sketch week. I don't know why, but I decided this card needed a little something and pulled out the Botanicuts Toadstool Garden from the Greetery. I have such fun inking up these fun toadstools. Here's a sneak peek:
I love the texture on these little toadstools and added more by placing them onto a woodgrain card base. Even though the fall colors haven't arrived here yet, I am hoping they will soon!
This card was relatively easy to put together. I die-cut and inked the toadstools, die-cut the sentiment layer and popped up some of the toadstools and adhered the others to the sentiment layer. I also added a couple of leaves from the Botanicuts Mighty Oak at the base of the toadstools. The sentiment was stamped in two colors to give a ribbon-shadow effect and the card was ready to go.

On a personal note:
Fall has certainly arrived here and the temps have dropped dramatically. The little hummingbirds and others have been waiting for some good strong northerly winds to begin their migration. We have had some of those this last couple of days and I haven't seen any hummers at the feeder. We will keep them out a couple more days, just in case there are any stragglers still making their way from up north. So, those of you south of us, should keep your eyes open and your feeders filled with sugar water. All they need is a quarter cup of sugar mixed with 1 cup of boiled water. Stir will and leave to cool. Not much investment for so many happy hours of watching them flit back and forth! 🙂

I totally adore these beautiful Toadstools, the way you arranged them is as if they coul be just at the foot of my backyard trees, the leaves add so much real feel to this sweet Autumn scene.

What a beautiful card! I love everything about it…the embossed woodgrain, the crimped rectangle (just fabulous! I’ve not seen one before! Where have I been?!) the ribbon shadow sentiment and the star of the card: those toadstools! Just beautiful!

Samantha, thank you! I was inspired by a photo of the fall colors in the NE – I love the rich reds and oranges together. Our trees are still green, but I must admit, I’m a sucker for fall colors 🙂

Thanks for the formula for the sugared water for the birds. I know it is not the right time, but I found some ideas for decorating the garden with clay pots and pieces of wood for making scare crows. I will have fun painting . . . not beautiful cards but decorations for the garden!!! My son will have lots of things to talk about!!!
