Happy Saturday.
Oh, I got to play along with a challenge this week that wasn’t related to my Design Team responsibilities. I’ve been so busy with my craft room, renos and creating my DT cards for the next few months that I haven’t had the time to make a card for a challenge. I saw a great challenge across at Seize the Birthday and decided to play along with a set that I received as part of my birthday goodies. It’s called Toast Time and it’s from Concord and 9th.

I must admit I am a bit of a sucker for avocado toast, so this set was perfect for me. Mind you, it does have a toast example with what looks like bananas and blueberries or strawberries and cream cheese, and I can honestly say putting those on toast has never been on my hit list of things to do :-). It has to be an English that that toast for me is savory. Hey, I don’t do PB&J either :-). Not dissing those that do, it’s just not my jam. But, give me a nice ripe avo, heirloom tomatoes and a nice crispy slice of toast and I’m yours 🙂

The STB challenge had an option to add a tag. I just couldn’t get it to work with this particular set, so skipped that. I pulled out some kraft, alabaster, red and green card stock and went to work creating the elements for my toast. I blended all of the layers and added some Glossy Accents for the middle of the tomatoes to add a little shimmer and shine. I sprinkled some “pepper” with my black pen and the focal element was ready.
I went into my patterned paper stash and found pad called Coffee Shop. It had these green papers that I thought worked for the “table cloth” and “plate” for my toast. I die-cut and added a sentiment to the plate and then added the toast to it. I glued the checked background paper and then mounted the sentiment on some thin foam squares to pop it off the base banner just a little.

Such a cool set. I must admit that I am loving all of the food themed sets that are being realeased right now and this set is no exception.
I’ll be back tomorrow with my paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

I am craving some avocado toast right now, instead of this wheat cereal I have in front of me. This is just a darling card and so well done. I even love the banner greeting.
