Concord & 9th Toast Time for Inkspirational Challenge #364 and AAA Challenge 311

Happy Thursday.

I got the chance to play along with two challenges today. Both AAA Challenges and Inkspirational are looking for a Clean and Simple Card with something beginning with E. I decided to go with EATING. Now, thanks to some recent purchases I have lots of food related goodies, but decided to bring out my Concord and 9th Toast Time and make a very clean and simple card.

Here’s a sneak peek:

A few days ago I used this same set for a challenge but it had a lot more going on. You can see that card here. Today’s card uses many of the same elements, but in a very paired back way.

Here are the challenge badges:

I began by die-cutting the elements from colored cardstock and adding some blending. The “toast” was created from kraft and brown cardstock, the avocado from minty green and dark green cardstock and the tomato from two shades of red.

I die-cut the “cream cheese” in white cardstock and adhered that over the toast. I then added the other elements and added a drizzle of “balsamic glaze”. I added some Glossy Accents to the tomato and the drizzle for a little shine.

I die-cut a napkin from some Coffee Time patterned paper and then adhered the toast on top of it. I used a sentiment from the matching sentiment set and the card was complete.

Here’s my full card:

Now, I love sliced bread, but I love avocado toast more :-). When Lou and I were last in Australia at the beginning of 2024 they were charging the equivalent of nearly $20 US for an avocado toast that consisted of two slices of toast, some avo and some greens, so it had obviously become trendy! Some cafe/restaurants were charging even more!

I’ll be back tomorrow with my Festive Friday card, which doesn’t feature toast! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Stamps and dies: Toast Time – Concord and 9th
  • Patterned Paper: Coffee Shop – Carta Bella

Hugs
