Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players 600th challenge! More about that in a minute, including a trip down memory lane!
I thought it appropriate that today's challenge is a CAS week challenge and Ann came up with a theme that is right up my alley. I've made so many kids cards recently that I was thrilled when the challenge came up. It was an excuse to make another card. Actually, the card I originally made for this challenge wasn't CAS and I only noticed this morning that it was a CAS challenge – so I had to rush to make another card. Luckily, a brand new set arrived in the post yesterday and it was perfect for the theme! I used Stampin' Up!s new All Bundled Up set.
This was such an easy card. I stamped and colored the fun moose. I used my wonky rectangles dies to out my focal layer. Stamped the sentiment, cut around it and popped it up. Voila. A CAS kids card. This is one of the cards that will be winging its way to SendaSmile4Kids next week. Here's my card:
Isn't that just the cutest image! I must admit I hadn't paid any attention to this set until I saw Melva Peters use it on her card for our current Festive Friday challenge. She did an awesome job with this set and it completely inspired me to buy it.
I hope you will play along with us – we would love to see YOUR take on Ann's theme! As always, the design team have some wonderful inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
I cannot believe that it has been so long! I am proud to have been a part of this group since the very beginning when Lesley invited me to join way back in 2010. I'd only been crafting for a very short while – about a year – then and was thrilled to have been invited to start up this new challenge blog! Being part of the challenge team really forced me to up my game as I played alongside such talented team members. When I look back I cannot believe how my style has changed. It took me a little while to find my comfort zone with CAS cards. I really did try to make multiple layers work with ribbon and things, but, I always loved the challenge of CAS. It might seem simple, but the slightest error, a little finger print, a drop of paint in the wrong place – so many things can go wrong and totally spoil a piece you have worked on for an hour or so! But, I love it.
I thought it might be fun to take a step back in time and take a look at my very first card for the Paper Players. Looking back, it was relatively clean and simple, but has something I would never put on cards today – ribbons and embellishments :-) It's rare that I use embellishments these days – maybe a couple of enamel dots or the rare sparkly thing:-) Something else I would never do today – pair Early Espresso and Real Red together :-) Here's my card from June 7 2010!
Oh man, I still remember trying to line up all those angles! What a fun trip down memory lane:-) I'll be back tomorrow with another card. But, before I go – I want to thank all of you who have been with me for so long – and you all know who you are. Without YOUR encouragement, I would never have continued this journey, or honed my craft. YOU are the ones that encourage me to continue – even today – and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every comment and every email that you send keeps me going. Bless all of you!
Hugs
Jaydee

Oh my dear, Jaydee, I can so relate! I love how you’ve found your style and honed your talent! This adorable moose is the star on your lovely CAS card. I had to re-make my card into a CAS version too. Have a great day!
Absolutely adorable, Jaydee! You have colored this little guy to perfection. I can’t wait to get my “Moose in the Mail. Oh, how I remember that first challenge! What a trip down Memory Lane! Thank you so much for making my challenge shine. Have a wonderful week!

Jaydee, you delight us not only with your beautiful cards but with your texts. Thanks so much for that. The moose is adorable!!!
Jaydee, I started stamping in 1993. I look at those cards and I smile. I have come a long way and so has my craft supplies. Have a great week.
I too absolutely love your moose. I rarely do cards for kids as my grands are all in college. But, I have a new great grandbaby as of last fall, so I need to learn. I believe I started following you in 2015. Anyway, love you and your cards and animals. Hugs to you and Lou.
LOL that moose is so cute…what a fun card. Your coloring is perfect! Love your first one also!
I love your moose Jaydee – it is indeed such a cute set, and I didn’t give it a second look either until I saw Melva’s card (she has a lot to answer for lol!) What a great flashback too – amazing to see how your style has evolved.
Love that moose, Jaydee! I just got it in my hot little hands yesterday. It reminds me of my brother so I’m going to have to make a card for him with it 🙂 Love your fun color choices and the wonky rectangle around your moose. Adorable!
What a fun walk down memory lane. I think your first card was fabulous! And I think your fun hat-clad moose is pretty fabulous too!
Ooops, and I forgot to say it has been awesome having you as a PP teamie! ♥
So cute, Jaydee! That little moose just makes me smile, especially with his brightly colored accessories. Happy 600th challenge, too! My how time certainly flies when you are having fun creating with friends! 🙂
