Reflections for Paper Players #563

Happy Sunday

It is my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's Clean and Simple Week.  My favorite!!!  It was a great excuse for me to ink up the Reflections set from The Greetery.

This set lends itself to one layer CAS cards, like the one I created for you today, but it can also be layered with multiple trees and fancy cut outs.  If you are interested in more inspiration using this set, you can check out The Greetery shop here.

I stamped all of the elements and then added a little more contrast with pencils in specific areas.  This card probably took me about 15 minutes to make and it truly is a one layer card.  The one thing that you can't really see in the photographs is that I blended some Pool Party ink at the top of the card to add a little touch of soft blue sky.

Here's my card:

Refletctions (1 of 1)-2

I hope you will join us and play along.  We would love to see what you create.

On a personal note:

Well….. mmmmm…. we went from winter into the middle of summer and it looks as though we are in for a long and cold winter.  How do I know?  Well, it wasn't from consulting the weather channel or the Farmer's Almanac… no.  We have another way of gauging the winter.  The arrival of these little guys:

It's official the Junco's have arrived!  It's a tad early for them – they usually are about another two weeks away from joining us.  The earlier they arrive, the worse the winter we have found.  So, the fact that they have arrived early and our summer birds left earlier than usual…. well, I don't have to consult the Farmer's Almanac to guess that we are in for a long, cold winter!  As much as I love the first fall of snow and I still feel like a child wanting to go out and stick my face up to the sky and feel the little flakes fall on it….. by the 3rd or 4th snowfall I'm over it.  Cos we know that we will be indoors until April and shoveling snow… ugh… I've decided I'd rather visit the snow than live with it for 6 months of the year 🙂

I didn't manage to get into my craft room today, but I am hoping to spend a little time in there tomorrow.  Mind you, there is still some decorating that needs to be done…I just don't quite feel that it is finished yet 🙂

I hope you are all staying safe and getting time to spend with your loved ones.  As Thanksgiving gets closer it seems that many of us have so much to be thankful for.  I'll be back later in the week with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. What a beautiful one layer card Jaydee! It always seems strange to see a card from you that isn’t floral as you do florals so well; I love the serene feel of your waterside scene and the bright green and blue looks so inviting and peaceful. Great card for a fun challenge this week! I hope too you are spared snow for a while longer yet!!

  2. I love this fabulous scene you created. The trees and the waterside image are serene and peaceful! Perfect challenge this week and I am very interested in seeing if your prediction comes true. I am not a fan of winter, so time will tell! Have a lovely week, My Friend!

  3. Super well done on this scene. Wow, love the set you used. As for the weather, I like snow except the shoveling part. It’s too soon for snow now.

  4. Great scene! I love the vibrant colors and the fun reflection technique! The one layer is fantastic; I always struggle with a single layer…maybe I need to use more scene stamps like this?? Have a wonderful week!

  5. Jeanne – I’m with you on the snow :-). And honestly, all credit for this card goes to The Greetery. It was such an easy card to put together. Hope you are enjoying this gorgeous late fall weather these last couple of days 🙂

  6. Amanda, thanks! I really love this set. Making “scene” cards is so hard for me, but this was so simple with the stamps!

  7. Thanks, LeAnne. I must admit, the temps have been in the low 70s the last couple of days, so, even though the leaves are all falling off the trees and the wetland has gone brown… I can still believe it’s summer 🙂

  8. Thanks, Claire. Yeah being a warm-blooded southern gal, I can believe you wouldn’t like cold winters 🙂

  9. Thanks, Joanne! Yeah, it’s been a little while since I did a floral card.. I think I need to change that 🙂
