Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week – and it's color week. Here's Laurie's challenge:
Black, red and grey are colors that I generally don't put together. Coincidentally, it happens to be the second post in a row that has images from these three exact colors! For today's card I thought about it for a while and decided to create a clean and simple, almost masculine card and that the images in the Hero Arts Seas the Day set would work perfectly. Luckily I had my layered rectangles to help me create perfectly rectangular layers for the focal image. I would never have been able to cut them without!
Here's my card:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Still cold here and still freezing overnight! So, we think the little hummingbirds must be poised below the cold weather waiting to join us. the Orioles have arrived and are at the feeder as I type this post. I got so excited when I saw the first one arrive a little over a week ago and rushed into the garage to get the feeder. Luckily, we still had some unexpired jelly left over from when they left us last year . So, I was able to get the feeder out pretty much as soon as we had gotten our first sighting of them. We have also had a couple of quick sightings of some of the other summer birds – including the cat bird. I'm hoping to be able to get some photos of them over the coming week. I'll be back later with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee

Such a cute card, Jaydee! I love the clean design and the punny sentiment is perfect. I hope it warms up for you soon. Our hummingbirds are back and we are enjoying them so much. Although down here, it’s a little TOO warm already. Have a great week!
I sure like the simplicity of your card, Jaydee and I always need ideas to CASE cards for my grandson. Thanks and Happy Spring!
The striped lighthouse is such a classic and it looks perfect in red! Great CAS design! We had our first catbird this weekend and he/she was making a racket! Have a great week!

A perfect clean and simple card, Jaydee! In my head, this is how all of my CAS cards start out, and then I manage to add a multitude of layers and way too many embellishments! What a wonderful way to showcase the challenge colors!
This is perfect! I love the lighthouse and the red and black frames. That sentiment made me smile! Great way to showcase these colors!
