Stitched Leaves for Paper Players #515

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week.

Now, I don't have any stamps even remotely associated with turkey's, so I thought about the other words associated with turkey and this time of of year and grateful came to mind.  I decided to use a new die that was part of my goodies for my anniversary and paired the die with some die-cuts from the Stitched Leaves set that matches the Loyal Leaves stamps.

I die-cut the leaves from fall colors and used the embossing die for the centers.  However, there just wasn't enough definition for me, so I took a finger blender and added ink to the outside edges of the leaves.  Here's a close-up:

Aren't those colors gorgeous together?  I hope you can see where I added ink on the edges.  You will also notice the gold shimmer watercolor speckles!  I die-cut some Neenah Solar White 110# card stock and then added various shades of orange and rust to the pieces with my blender brushes.  I really wanted a warm color to the base.  I also blended the piece behind the leaves with some Pool Party ink and then assembled the card.  The last thing I did was add the watercolor splatters and the sentiment.  Here's my full card:

I hope you will join us and play along with our theme challenge.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Those stitched leaves are just beautiful Jaydee; the added sponging gives real depth and those warm autumn colours are glorious. A fabulous framed surround too – love the speckles! You should link up over at SUO Challenges where they have an autumn/fall theme too – those leaves are too good not to be shared!

  2. I do love your choice of leaf colors Jaydee, along with your ink blending both on the base and the added depth of color to the leaves. And the gold! 💖 I also love your take on the theme, even in these strange times there is still much to be grateful for. Gorgeous card!!

  3. Oh wow – this is one of my favorite sets – the leaves are gorgeous! Your sponging to add depth and the gold splatters really make them shine! LOVE!! 🙂

  4. Absolutely gorgeous, Jaydee! How I wish I would have purchased these dies! Such rich colors…and those splatters are the perfect finishing touches. A perfect Thanksgiving card!
