Sailing Home for Paper Players #499 and blog candy reminder

Happy Sunday.

I can hardly believe that we are 1 challenge away from our 500th Paper Players challenge!!!  But, this week it's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's color week and I'm showcasing my Stampin' Up! Sailing Home set.

I wanted to keep this really clean and simple.  I took a piece of white card stock and blended blue onto it as I wanted something to ground the elements that I was adding.  I stamped and die-cut the anchor, the compass and the lighthouse.  I colored them using the three colors we were allowed as part of the challenge and then mounted them over the blended area.  I stamped the sentiment in black (free color) and added it to a textured base.  Here's my card:

Sailing Home (1 of 1)-3

As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration cards for you:

On personal note:

Lou has almost finished sanding and repainting the deck railing and sealing the deck boards.  In this heat it has been pretty exhausting, but it certainly was worth the effort.  Tomorrow he was a couple of pieces still to finish up and then we will be able to decorate the deck and hopefully sit out and enjoy it!

In case you missed last night's post – I'm having a little Christmas in July blog candy fun.  You can check out all the details here.  You are all very welcome to play along!

I will be back with another card tomorrow.  Before I go, here's what's been visiting the feeder.  Once again, I'm not quite sure who was watching who!!!!

Woodpecker (1 of 1)-2

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Awesome card Jaydee! Gathering all the elements in one corner gives your card a collage effect but in CAS manner, which is totally fabulous. Thanks for sharing the photo of the pretty woodpecker too!

  2. Jaydee, this is so fabulous! I love the lighthouse with the anchor and compass. Such a fabulous CAS creation with a masculine feel. This color combo was perfect for this fantastic scene. Makes me long for the ocean!

  3. I’m loving the textured card base you used and the blue inking to ground your cluster of images. A stunning card!
Lovely to see your little woodpecker – definitely keeping an eye on you! Hope you’ll be able to sit outside on your new deck really soon. Vicky x

  4. Wonderful card – you’ve really rocked the color challenge! And – I KNOW who’s watching who!! I love your bird photos!!
