Best Dressed Stitched Labels for AtlanticHeartsSketches #362 and Time Out

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.

Well, so much for getting time to spend in my craft room during my vacation week!  I ended up working 4 very long days and a couple of hours yesterday.  I eventually managed to untangle myself from the madness at work and finally escape to my craft room.  My mojo wasn't flowing easily, so I went looking for some challenges and found a sketch at AtlanticHearts and a color theme at Time Out.  Time out chose the color purple to raise awareness for Epilepsy.  A cause dear to my heart as one of my besties was diagnosed when she was still a little girl.  So, I was happy to play along with a lot of purple!

Luckily, I have some fabulous SU DSP called Best Dressed that has some amazing Blackberry Bliss focused patterned paper in it.  I decided to make two cards because I had spare paper left over.  For one, I turned the sketch on its side and for the other, I left it to match the sketch.  I paired the paper with a Blackberry Bliss base for lots of purple for the first card:

Best Dressed AHS (1 of 1)

For the second card – the one where I turned the sketch on its side, I used a white base for a "little" purple:

Best Dressed AHS TO (1 of 1)

I absolutely love this paper and had forgotten how gorgeous blackberry bliss is, especially paired with the olive and saffron.

On a personal note:

I don't know about you all, but the events of the world certainly seem to be affecting my mojo.  It took my forever to get going with cards yesterday.  The only thing that got me moving was remembering that I was making these cards for bringsmilestoseniors.  Consequently, most of the cards you will see over the coming days were made specifically for this cause.  And, because I spent several hours in my craft cave, I will have a few cards to share with you.

I hope you and your families are all keeping safe and healthy.  I'll be back later with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Absolutely gorgeous paper, and I like very much how you’ve used it here. Both are great, but the one with deep purple is my favorite!
I have had the same issue with creating, Jaydee. I’ve seen that expressed on many blogs I visit as well. As Jennifer McGuire says, “card making is our superpower” and it can help ease our anxiety as well as bring some smiles and virtual hugs to others. Thank you for creating and sharing with us at Atlantic Hearts this week.

  2. I love these beautiful cards, Jaydee. They will brighten a senior’s day. I agree that I’ve had a lack of mojo which seems to be coming back very slowly. We are under stay at home until at least May 15 and I feel that is a long time for me to be able to accomplish things on my to-do list.Be well. Enjoy your day!

  3. That paper is absolutely stunning – I can see why you love it so much. It really does pair beautifully with that card stock as well. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out! Jill
