Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week:
Normally for this sort of theme, I would have my stamps and pencils out and spend ages coloring. However, I decided to do something very quick and simple. Something that would highlight some of the gorgeous DSP from SU. I paired a piece of Best Dressed DSP with a die from the Detailed Bands set. Easy peasy card.
Here's my Best Dressed card 🙂
Isn't that paper so pretty? I don't have the Dressed to Impress stamp set that works so well with this DSP, but I have seen some fabulous cards made with it… but I am holding out still 🙂
I hope you will join us and play along with Joanne's challenge. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, Lou and I were supposed to be in the UK starting today and at a wonderful hotel in the Lake District on Friday to celebrate my birthday on Friday. However, we aren't leaving on a jet plane anytime soon! We have cancelled our plans and today I will spend the day in my craft room making happy cards. I am trying to finish off enough cards to fill a box for SendASmile4Kids, so I think some kiddie cards will be on the agenda for today.
On the weather front…. oh… the snow has almost all gone! We have had a couple of days in the 50s and 60s and the spring birds are making their return. The red-winged blackbirds, robin and cranes returned this week…. but.. the juncos are still around… so we know that winter isn't quite done with us yet! It has been wonderful to hear the sound of rain and to feel the warmth of the sun on the skin though.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

wow what gorgeous paper!! And a beautiful card!
Oh, Jaydee! I am so sorry for your canceled trip. I am sending hugs your way. Your card is stunning, and yet so clean and simple! LOVE it!
Your card is so pretty Jaydee and makes a great feature of those gorgeous papers, which work even without the stampset. I love that detailed band – it really makes me want to buy it, such great scroll detailing. So sorry to hear about your cancelled trip – I just hope that the disruption is better for us all in the long run. Stay safe – hugs!
Wow – this is gorgeous! Love that stitched die cut front and the way it perfectly accents your wonderful DSP!! 🙂
That is amazing dsp. I thought for sure it was something you watercolored, so well done to use it as the main feature of your card. The sentiment with the intricate scrolls adds a delicious bit of elegance. I totally love your card Jaydee!
I’m so sorry you had to cancel your trip to celebrate your birthday. What a bummer. I hope you and Lou will still find a way to make it special for you! Hugs and Happy Birthday!
I adore these papers, and I don’t have that stamp set yet either! But I think you can create beautiful cards with just some simple stamps, ink and paper, and you have proved it here! No one would complain if they got this card in the mail!
Gorgeous card, the paper totally stands alone!
Jaydee, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!! I am very sorry you didn’t get to go on your trip. Everything is so crazy now. My son and DIL were going on a cruise for Spring Break and that was called off, too. Lots of disappointed people out there. Sending you warm hugs!
Your card is just beautiful! This DSP is gorgeous! The intricate die for your sentiment is just perfect! This card will certainly make someone very happy!
Stay positive and enjoy your gorgeous yard and visitors. I saw my Hostas peeking out of the ground today!
Wow, wow, WOW!! Love how this paper just pops with the ornate sentiment. Wishing you the happiest birthday, even if it isn’t part of the plans. Sending you big hugs, my sweet friend!
Oh, I love the stamp you used and your coloring!
