Detailed Diamonds for Paper Players #450 and blog candy alert

HI Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color challenge week.

When I saw these colors, I could hear my mother saying to me, in a disdainful voice, "blue and green should never be seen"!  However, I think it depends on the shades :-)  I don't have these colors in my stash, so I had to go to the nearest match.  Earlier this year I bought a geometric stamp set from The Stamp Market called Detailed Diamonds.  I decided to challenge myself… I mean… how was I going to do all that positioning with one hand and two fingers…. Well, it took some time, and the placement isn't perfect, but I managed 🙂

As neutrals are allowed as part of our colors, I used black for the sentiment.  I pulled out an old Papertrey Ink set called Wet Paint.  Once I had finished the front, I mounted it onto a Neenah Solar White card base with some fun foam.

Here's my card:

Triangles (1 of 1)

I hope you join us and play along this week.  As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, the design team have come up with some blue and green beauties, that definitely deserve to be seen 🙂

On a personal note:

We saw our first doe and fawn sighting this week.  They were gamboling in our woodland and having a jolly old time.  I needed to sneak a photo, so quickly and quietly stepped out of the back door, but mama was having none of it – one of her little ones had already disappeared before I got this shot – taken between the deck railings 🙂

Deer (1 of 1)

Isn't she gorgeous?  It's always wonderful to see the young ones make an appearance.

We also have a new sighting in the woodland – this……  it's the most difficult thing to try to take a photo off as it disappears so quickly….

What's this (1 of 1)

OK… any guesses as to what it is????  I'm thinking that it's about time for a little bit of blog candy… so I have a mystery bag of goodies for one of you.  Leave a message on this post – or send me an email – and tell me what you think it is.  I'll pull a name from those of you who do participate – and you don't have to be right to be a winner.  This is my way of saying thank you for sticking around whilst I was on my little break.  I'll leave the blog candy open until next Friday midnight and the winner will be announced with my Paper Players post next Sunday.  In the meantime, I will try to see if I can capture  better photo of the mystery thing for you!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Love your card. I do like those colors together. I think you’ve photographed a pheasant. Maybe.

  2. Hi there! Just wanted to say, even with a disadvantage, your cards are stunning. I like the colour combo and the saying should probably go out the window along with never wearing white after labour day …
Is it a cougar that is in the photo? We get them every once in a while although it’s pretty rare …

  3. This is a great card Jaydee for those tricky men in our lives – you did an excellent job of aligning all those diamonds, with limited use of your hands too. Great deer shot – I have absolutely no idea what the white thing could be, but am intrigued!!

  4. Great card. A crazy guess…could it be an albino frog? Don’t know if they exist, just letting the mind roam. Enjoy your day. Thanks for chance at blog candy.

  5. This is a lovely card, Jaydee, and I am impressed that you managed to do this with injuries, LOL!! Your lining-up is perfect! And as far as the white blur…hmmmm, I am guessing an albino deer but it really is a mystery!

  6. A wonderful masculine card, Jaydee! I love how you used the colors and placed the diamonds. I can’t align things this perfectly without injuries! lol As for the mysterious white object, since I can’t really tell the scale of it, it could be an albino deer. However, my guess is that it is a woodland faerie! (wink)

  7. Jaydee, you always amaze me! I can’t believe your were able to create this fabulous geometric card with one hand! I love the blue and green combo and the pop of black is perfect! This is a great masculine card, too! Thanks for a chance to win blog candy, so I am guessing an owl or white deer. I love your nature shots! Have a great weekend, My Friend! XX

  8. Love your card, Jaydee! The geometric shapes really look great with this color combo, too. As far as the photo, I’m stumped. I’m going to guess that it’s a fox. I saw a photo of a white fox the other day and that’s the only thing standing out to me after seeing your photo. or a bunny? Very interesting!
