Hi Everyone. I will be joining other bloggers tomorrow with a day of silence to support the victims of Sandy Hook, so I will not be posting tomorrow. This post will stay up until Wednesday evening.
For the last few days we have been inundated with photographs of the person who committed this atrocity. Tonight, I would like to focus on those who were affected. Unless you have children, you forget just how young and innocent 6 and 7 year olds are. The photographs that were shared on news channels such as nbcnews reminded us of those children, captured forever in a photograph, with their whole lives ahead of them, doing things that children should be doing. Photographs captured by loving parents enjoying the simple things in life with their children. Parents who now, instead of planning Christmas parties, are now planning funerals and memorial services. Parents whose lives will never, ever be the same again.
So, please, join me in a moment of silence and say a prayer for those children and adults who were killed on Friday:

I had not heard of a day of blogging silence, but I too shall be joining in. Thank you for letting me know.
I understand why you watch and absolutely agree with your reasoning. The focus should be on the victims. Losing children is always shocking, but to do so in such a violent manner leaves me breathless.
That is a beautiful prayer, Jaydee. Thank you for posting it. I too read aloud each name, as you did. They deserve to be remembered.

I read your blog each day, not only because you are talented, but because of your good and kind heart. Thank you for that. May God hold each of these children and adults, their parents and extended families in the palm of His hand. Yes, they do deserve to be remembered.

Beautiful Jaydee. I’m so torn up after this terrible act. I have a son who just turned seven in October and my daughter just turned nine. I volunteer at our school three days a week reading and to think about what these families are going through makes me cry. Our school has locked the doors and anyone entering must now call into the office. It’s s small step to protect our kids but one that gives us parents a sense of peace. May God’s grace and mercy be on those who have lost a loved one and may He lift those souls into His Kingdom.
