Happy Saturday.
I got to play in my craft room today with a little more hot foiling and a gorgeous floral from Alex Syberia called Hugs in Bloom. I was inspired to create this card because of the sketch across at As You See It.
I decided I needed to look for some color inspiration, so visited my Color Cube and found card 416 and loved the soft colors of it.

I have to tell you that I think Cloud Cover is one of my favorite all time SU colors! I am obsessed with the soft/grey blue!
Here’s the sketch from my the very talented Antipodean Jan:
I foiled the Hugs in Bloom pressplate with silver foil and then colored it using the matching stencils. The Color Cube inspiration has soft pinks, so I used those as the base for the flowers. It also has this Cloud Cover-ish blue/grey and a deep green. I used both of those for the leaves.
Once the stenciling was done, I die-cut the image and then die-cut a couple of extras to put behind my image. I stamped a sentiment from Easy Expressions from The Ton and added a little sliver of silver under the sentiment layer.
I embossed the background with my Leafy embossing folder from Spellbinders (one of my favorites) and then put everything together. I finished off the card with a mix of silver pearls and rhinestones.

Aren’t those colors just gorgeous with that soft Cloud Cover. Seriously – my favorite SU color right now! Which reminds me. I need to order some more 🙂

Oh my! I love this, Jaydee! I’m with you on the gorgeous colours you’ve chosen (or cubed) and also that Cloud Cover is a superb. Those metallic touches are so elegant and I love that leafy embossing in the background. You have not just used the sketch but have shown it at its best! You nailed both challenges with this card, Jaydee! The colors are spot on–the flower is gorgeous–and the flower works perfectly with the sketch too! The silver dots add just the right touch of bling!
