Happy Tuesday.
I spent some time in my craft room making cards for the kids at sendasmile4kids and had such fun playing with the new Snailed It set from Stampin' Up! I looked up the collective noun for a group of snails and apparently it is an escargatoire, walk or rout. I didn't think much of a title "rout of snails" for my blog and thought escargatoire just kind of flowed off the tongue! :-) Whatever you decide to call it – I have several cards to share with you tonight!
For my first card, I pulled out my old Tim Holtz sunrays stencils and created a sunny background. I stamped and colored the larger of the snail images and paired it with the happy mail stamped image. I fussy cut both of them and adhered them over the sunray. Really simple. Of course, I had to add a little glimmer and shine with my gel pen on some of the areas.
For my next card, I used some of the DSP that is part of the Snailed It suite. I stamped and colored the images and then fussy cut them. I took a piece of white card stock and ran it through the SU brick embossing folder and adhered the elements with foam tape and stamped the sentiment.
The third card also used some of the DSP. This time I used no color on the toadstool image and added the die cut layer with some fun foam. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the snail and adhered it with some foam tape.
I did the same again, but used red as my featured color – and who can resist that little heart DSP? 🙂
For the final two, it was back to the sunray stencil and I used some of the leftover DSP. I created a blue snail and let the blue paper be the first layer and reversed it for the second card.
Seriously, how cute is this set????? It's perfect for quick and easy cards, or for more complex ones. I didn't get the matching die set as I didn't think I would use all the elements. I think this is one of the sets that will be staying around for quite a while in my craft room!
I'll be back on Thursday with another card and hopefully I will get out to capture some wildlife shots for you. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee

I think I will get more into “fussy cutting” . . . that way, I do not have to purchase the dies . . . I rather invest in something else. These “escargoterie” cards will make someone “snail”!!
