Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a fruity theme:
I don't have many fruit stamps but the Penny Black Perfect Pear stamp is my favorite! So, it was a wonderful excuse to be able to ink up this stamp again and I decided to practice the no-line coloring. Zig Real Brush Markers are perfect for this technique.
I inked up the various parts of the stamp and then lightly spritzed water over the stamp. I then stamped the image onto watercolor paper. However, I never seem to know when to leave things alone! So, I had to go and add some detail with my Copic Markers. :-) I finished off with some white and black splatters.
I mounted the panel onto an Early Espresso card base and added a little dark brown twine. Here's my card:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the fabulous creations from our amazing design team. This week sees the return of the wonderful Anne Marie who is re-joining us and we are so excited to have her back. I will miss seeing Nance's fabulous creations in our gallery, though. But… we totally understand why she is taking some time off 🙂
On a personal note:
Lou and I have just returned for a 10 day cruise where we celebrated a BIG birthday! We sailed up the North East Coast, up to Halifax, Nova Scotia and then down and across to the Bahamas. It was a wonderful cruise!
I did managed to get into my craft room to make a couple of cards. It was great to spend some time with Charlie as my crating companion.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card – and some photos. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Hello Jaydee! First of all, it sounds like you had a wonderful time on your cruise. I can’t wait to see your photos. Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I just love the watercolored look and the added detail with the Copics really added a lot of depth to the image. Simply stunning. So glad to be back on the team. Such a joy and an honor to be creating with you again. Have a great day today! 🙂
Your cruise sounds amazing. Having recently done a cruise, I know how relaxing and marvellous it is. Whenever I look at other people’s no line watercolouring, I’m impressed and when I do it, I start worrying about the lack of details so I completely get why you’d add in detailing. I think your pear looks utterly delicious and that the splattering enhances it. It’s another great card, Jaydee.
Glad you had fun on your trip! Your card is awesome…you are so good at this technique.Love the splatters!
Jaydee, I am so happy you had such a wonderful vacation! I know it was fun to celebrate Lou’s birthday! Your card is amazing! I think it is one of my favorites of yours. This pear is just so lovely! I love the no line coloring and the added detail with the Copics! You are so talented! Have a great week, My Friend!
Wowza, this is a work of art! Very realistic, gorgeous colors, I love it all! Glad you’re back from your cruise safe and sound and RESTED!
Jaydee… Perfect no line coloring! Love it!
This pear is gorgeous Jaydee – you have totally nailed the no-line watercolouring! I love the addition of the splatters too, they add interest and detail. So glad you and Lou enjoyed your cruise and returned rested and ready to get back into the swing of daily life; the cruise sounds idyllic.
Jaydee, it was love at first sight for me with this card. What a fabulous one layer creation, and your coloring of the pear is so expertly done. I’ve got a few Penny Black stamps that are as of yet untouched, and you’ve inspired me to get some ink on them.
Your pear is SO pretty! It looks just like a freehand watercolor piece, masterfully done! Hope you’re having a good week ~ Hugs, Annie
