Better to travel well…. and Feel Good Friday… and shout out to Cam

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to post last night.  I started work at around 6.30am and finished at 8.40pm.  Had dinner and then went back and worked for about another hour.

Tonight's card is clean and simple in lines and colors.  I love this color combination.  I also love the sentiment.  I thought the sentiment fit really well with tonight's story.

I never ceased to be amazed by some young people.  People who use their amazing talents for the good of others.  Who take their prodigious abilities and make other people's lives better.  I found out about this young lady when I was at the hairdresser this afternoon.  The only magazine they had for me to read was Glamour.  Well, I have to be honest, my statement about reading the magazine was, "gosh, this magazine makes me feel so old!"  However, there was obviously a reason why I was supposed to read it.  I found 10 incredibly inspiring stories in it.  I have featured one of the stories and given you the link to the others.  I really recommend you go check them out.

So, tonight's card:

Travelwell

I love the textured card stock with the beautiful satin ribbon.  I love the colors.  I love the fact that this sentiment echoes one of my philosophies in life… and seems to fit the story of Amy Qian – and many of the other recipients of the Glamour Top 10 College Women Award.  What struck me about Amy's story is that she is not only doing things that are good for people – but also for the environment.  You know that this is a double YAY! from me!

Here's a link to Amy's story

Here is the link to the other stories.

I have a big shout out tonight to CAM.…… I received a big box of fabulous cards from Cam for our card drive.  Way to Go, Cam!!!!   I really appreciate the fact that you always support our card drives.  You have made so many people happy and you have immense spirit.   I am so grateful that you found my blog.  Receiving the box of cards, that I knew were made with love – created a really feel good Friday moment for me!

Now… I am off to dinner with my handsome hubby… but I need to go
and put some makeup on and try to at least look a little decent!

Prayers tonight for Germaine, T, Pri, Cam, John and Sue.  Prayers also for Adelle, Lesley and Rach and their furbabies.

As always, thank you for spending a little time in my area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visits, your support and your comments are always much appreciated.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Last Friday night I was really inspired by your uplifting story, too, and read the whole story! These young women are amazing, and I’m grateful you led to their stories. Your cards are always inspiring, and I’m always touched by your prayer list.

  2. Wonderful card…fabulous sentiment! Now that I am retired, I get a chance to watch the Today show. Just last week they featured four of the top ten college women. It was inspiring!

  3. Great layout for the card. I love the way you colored the pots for the plants. How did you do that and get that fabulous aged look?
    You bow is perfect too!

  4. Wow! The card, the stories of the next generation of strong women, and the warm fuzzies that come naturally from your blog. Thank you for taking us along this journey–I’m sure I’m not the only reader who is enjoying traveling well with you. Tons of hugs to you my friend.
Extra warm thoughts and prayers to all those in need, especially you Germaine. It was good to see you comment earlier this week. To One & All-Have a fabulous weekend.
