Hi Everyone.
I have a quick post for you tonight. I saw this great sketch across at Freshly Made and decided I liked it so much that I was inspired to make two cards. Tonight's card is the second card I made with the sketch.
One of my favorite Altenew sets is the Build a Flower Magnolia and I decided it would really well as the left hand element. I stamped and colored it with my Copics and it gave me a very subtle look and I really liked it. However, once I had assembled the card, I decided it really needed some more detail. Detail that was impossible to get with more Copic markers, so I pulled out my Prismacolors and decided to add some detail.
Here's the closeup before I used the pencil:
Soft, subtle and pretty. Here's the full BEFORE card:
Now, let's take a look at what happened when I added a little detail. All told, adding the detail took less than 10 minutes:
The difference becomes really noticeable when you see the full card:
The image really pops off the background now! If it had been against a white background, I would have left it as it was, but the silver felt as though it needed something bolder. Let me know what you think – colored pencil – or no colored pencil? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'll be back tomorrow with the other card that I made using the sketch. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight
Hugs
Jaydee

Gorgeous! The prismacolors add a phenomenal amount of detail…they look so realistic! And of course, I love the sketch!
Well, I like the card both ways. The added pencil adds much, but I do like how subtle the before card has.
This is beautiful! I love the coloring and the little scalloped detail is so pretty. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
