Hi Everyone.
Quick post for you this morning. It's my pleasure to host the Paper Players challenge this week and it's a color challenge.
I originally intended this as a more masculine color set, but with the addition of any other color it can go many different places. I decided to add gold to mine.
I used the Build a Rose set from Altenew – this really is one of my favorite sets. Although I love it, I am still trying to perfect the arrangement of the individual stamps to get them in the right place. Once I think I have cracked the formula – I will share it with you 🙂
I decided to put my rose on a circle background with a little added texture. I die cut a stitched circle and then ran that circle through my big shot with my Crafters Workshop brick stencil.
Here's a closeup so that you can see
I like use the stencils to emboss instead of the embossing folder as they give a softer look.
Here's my full card. You can see the gold splatters that I added to the background.
I hope you will play along with us this week. If you are looking for some fabulous inspiration – you only have to check out the wonderful cards from our design team:
Im off to spend some time in my craft room today (to escape the snow and -30 degree temps AGAIN!) So, hopefully I should be back tomorrow with something to share. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Those colors look gorgeous with that flower set…soft and beautiful. I like the splatters you added too! Have a great day!
Beautiful card. Love the pretty blue rose and the soft embossed circle. The gold splatters look great on the background.
As always I really admire your cards and stamping projects. You make simple look beautiful!
Oh this flower is beautiful, Jaydee! Love blue florals especially with the yellow pop of Lemon Lime Twist in the leaves. Such a great tough with the splatters. I really enjoyed these colors too, my friend!
I love this! The glorious bloom against the splattery background is wonderful! I’ve got a soft spot for Altenew Stamps but only have a couple of sets. Enjoy your week.
Your Build a Rose Card is jaw dropping gorgeous!
Stunning rose, Jaydee! I love the white space, the embossing and the little flecks of gold! A gorgeous creation!
Jaydee, this such a beautiful card and a beautiful bloom. You know I love Altenew florals as well, but I have an extremely difficult time with the layering stamps. You, however, have lined them up perfectly! I really enjoyed working with these colors, too. Hugs 🙂
I think you lined up those layering stamps perfectly and thanks for a great color challenge. It was a little outside the box for me and I always like it when I have to ‘think’ LOL! Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
Jaydee…your blue rose is so striking in its realism…love it!
-30!!! I would never go outside. We have been cooped up all week in the ATL! I don’t like it. No school all week for the kiddos. I am ready to see some gorgeous blooms like the one on your card. Jaydee, this is beautiful! I love the embossed background and those lovely golden flecks. Stay warm and safe! Big Hugs! XX
I love how you managed to take these bold colours and create something so soft and delicate – your rose against the textured circle looks beautiful. I loved your colour challenge this week!
