Cam’s Enchanted Makeover card slideshow

Hi Everyone

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a great evening.   Lou and I kicked in the new year in a relaxed fashion; a gentle drive around the Phalen Park "lights in the park" display and then off to dinner at a little Italian restaurant in St Paul called La Grolla.  We were back in time to celebrate New Year in our new home…well, at home!  It's hard to believe that we have been in our new home for 7 months already and that we are STILL doing things around the house!

Tonight, I wanted to share the first of the card slideshows from the Enchanted Makeover card drive.  It's going to take me a little while to work through all the showcases as my photo editing software is really driving me crazy and I'm having to use flickr – which is pretty new to me.  So, I hope you will be patient with me whilst I work through all of this.

Cam has been an amazing supporter of my card drives and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for that.  I love her cards.  They always make me smile.  She is not afraid to use color, DSPs mixed with embossing folders and embellishments.   I know that you will find lots of inspiration in this card showcase.   I'd LOVE it if you would leave a little love for Cam.

You can click on this awesome card and it should take you to her showcase on flickr.  I have to tell you that I love this set and I love what Cam did with it!!!!   It seems that you have to be logged in to flickr to see the cards…. If anyone knows a work around to avoid that, can you let me know by leaving me a message on this post, please?  Thanks!!!

Im sorry about the fact that the photo isn't completely in focus.  I found that there are multiples like that in the slideshow.  However, rather than not showing the cards, I thought I would let you see them so that you can get inspiration!

On a personal note:

Lou and I have managed to get paintings on the walls and Lou painted our master bathroom.  When we moved in it was the beigey color….we decided that we really wanted to go with the richer Toasted Marshmallow that we have used as an accent color.   Boy… what a difference!    We also finished off the sunroom.  It was the one room in the house that we had just thrown furniture into that we brought from the old house.  It really didnt work, but we didn't have time to do anything about it until we started Christmas vacation.   Now, it's taken on a whole new look and feel and we love it.  All that's left to add are curtains.

If Lou hasn't had enough fun repainting our new house… He's upstairs – as I type this – in the walk in closet painting that, too! :-)  When Pam and John and Russ and Rach were coming to visit us, Lou put shelving up in their closets and we realized that we really wanted to do that in our own WIC.  The professionals had wanted to charge a fortune to do something similar.  We couldn't afford that, so Lou is doing the work and it's going to cost us a fifth of what the professionals quoted!  We think it's going to look great, but the walls needed painting before the shelving can go up.  Poor Lou.  All this painting… and he's really amazingly patient about it all, too!  I'll share some pics as soon as we have the cupboards up!

Now… on to new year resolutions or, as Rach will call them, goals!   Have you set any?  I have.  I had to.  My Doctor warned me that I absolutely needed to do something about my stress levels and that fact that I've picked up weight 4 straight years now.  Considering my family history, neither of these things are good.   So, I have promised myself that I will stop spending so much time at my computer and get up off my ever increasingly large bottom and do something!  No more excuses!  All excuses are going to do is get me into my grave earlier than I would like!  I mean, I want to be around to enjoy this wonderful view and our new home, right?!!!!

As always, thank you for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere.   Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Oh no, Lou! Still *more* painting?!?? ;o) I bet it all looks amazing! There is nothing like a fresh coat of paint to completely change the look of a room–my dining room, kitchen and master bath can attest to that. :o)
    Cam–I LOVE the cards! :o)
Jaydee, my friend, step away from the box and get out and keep walking! I took that little internet break, and while I missed everyone, it was lovely to have that break. I’ve cut my time on the computer significantly and couldn’t be happier! I have five goals for the year, one of them to keep moving and another to lose the weight I still have hanging on (or having packed on over the holidays…doh!). Those seem to be fairly common…;o)
I’m so glad you all had a marvelous New Year! Lil made it all the way to midnight–I didn’t, btw–and was a little bear this morning when she awoke at seven. UGH! Back to school for Miss Bit tomorrow…lucky Mr. Murphy. ;o)
I hope you have a marvelous Wednesday!
    Hugs!
P.S. Hang in there, Lou. Surely you’ve painted all the rooms and walls you could possibly paint at this point…right??? ;oP

  2. Cam’s cards are beautiful. And such a variety.
Jaydee, glad to hear you are on the same page as I am. Been going to Weight Watchers and boy has it made a difference. 50 lbs. and counting. This holiday has done me in so back to the meeting Friday.
    Happy New Year!

  3. Cam, your cards are great.
Happy New Year..I don’t made resolutions, because I just don’t stick to them..but I also could loose some extra weight. It is better for our health and my poor joints!
Hope your “ARTIST” is finished his painting. Enjoy your time together.

  4. Hi jaydee, just read your post -unfortunately, so many of us spend waaaay too much time at our jobs – my daughter observed yesterday that I “haven’t stamped since I started my new job” and that was 14 months ago – how sad is that! Because my employer certainly isn’t thanking me! All the negative health impacts, oh my, I should follow your lead and get up! Lovely cards, all of them, my comment about my job explains why I haven’t participated, but “one of these days…!” Anyways, I’m sure your closet is fantastic, if what we’ve seen from the rest of your posts is any indication! Still waiting for that full slide show of your house, because it is SO lovely… Have a fabulous Sunday!
