Happy Monday. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I finished packing up all the cards and they have started to ship out. I got to spend some quality time with each and every card and all I can say is that my blog readers are an amazingly talented group of ladies. Talented and charitable. What an awesome combination.
Once again, we received cards from far and wide. From Marina in Far Away Africa to Gill across the Atlantic. It's amazing that those of you who live so far away are willing to join in with my local blog readers to do something good for someone else.
Crafting for a cause certainly adds a wonderful twist and it was obvious that each of the cards was made with love.
We managed to gather over 700 cards for the three charities. Some of you specified the charities you wanted to receive the cards, whilst others asked to send them wherever they were needed. All of the cards are off to their new homes. You know that I appreciate your support – but not as much as the charities – and the final recipients of the cards.
300+ cards were sent to Operation Quiet Comfort . Many, many thanks to Colleen T who donated 250 cards made especially for this organization.
200+ cards were sent to Card Care Connection to help support cancer patients.
200+ cards were sent to children who have lost family members to cancer. This charity replaces the one that I had originally intended to send cards to. I found that the charity was no longer accepting cards, and this charity was being highlighted on splitcoaststampers as their November charity. Here's a little write-up from splitcoast: The Bright Star Center assists children ages 3-18 through the grieving process. Children grieve very differently than adults. At Bright Star they are encouraged to express grief both verbally and through positive play. Art, Children's yoga, grief groups, and a one day camp are just a few activities offered.
Teens in the program take pride in "giving back" through a pet food bank program that donates food to families in the hospice program. This program offers Fellowship and a sense of purpose. These kids are amazing!
How could I not support that? 🙂
So, these amazing people have helped support cancer patients, children who have lost loved ones to cancer and our injured veterans. A huge shout out to these amazing ladies:

Woohoo!!! You guys are an amazing bunch! I have my cards set aside and ready to go next go ’round. :oS I love the charity you selected and I’m thrilled there are so many to send off.

Thank you Jaydee! I am truly humbled.
I was very ill during the time I made the cards and the card making project helped me keep my mind “in the positive” instead of on my misery :). My husband was my sounding board and together we shared many a smile.
We especially like the little white mouse ♫ whistling ♫ as he carries the American Flag. Those huge pink ears are just too fun.
You are to be commended for taking on this project. It was no small task!!
May those who receive a card be as happy as those of us who made the card for them!
