Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. This is my second post for today. If you are interested in my Just Us Girls card – you can check out this link
It's the talented Carolyn's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a great code word for us:
Now, there are some days when coffee is a MUST have – as opposed to a nice-to-have. On those days – the sentiment from the Altenew Coffee Talk and Coffee Love sets. I paired it with the Coffee stain stencil from Tim Holtz to create this card:
Sometimes… water will just not do – and coffee is required to get the batteries going again:-) I think my friend Rach will totally appreciate this sentiment.
I hope you will join our Addicted to CS challenge this week – there is some amazing inspiration from our design team – including our very talented guest designer – Hazel.
If you are the lucky winner of our challenge – we have a great prize for you – a $10 gift certificate from Stamplorations:
On a personal note:
Today was a glorious day and by all accounts tomorrow is supposed to be even better. Gloriously sunny with a cool-ish breeze. I hope all of you were outside of Hurricane Matthew. Several of my colleagues were caught in the storm but luckily none of them suffered more than a wet basement. Hopefully – you were all as lucky.
On our trip away this week, I became entranced by the still waters and the reflections of the changing trees. Here's a photo of the shallow end of the lake – covered with lily pads.
What I noticed were the Monet-esque patterns in the water. The slight ripples and the reflections of the trees that were changing color and the grasses.
I love the yellows and the reds and the bronzes reflected in the water with the green in the foreground. The lily pads act as a wonderful separation between the edges of the shallow end of the lake. The sun reflecting on the water was calming and peaceful and there was a slight breeze. It really was a perfect location. Except…. we saw no birds. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. With so much activity outside our own home, we were so surprised that we saw nothing. We heard a Pileated Woodpecker, a Nuthatch and a Chickadee. It was so rare that we heard a bird that we both exclaimed BIRD when we heard something. Which was really funny when we woke up the second morning and heard a Rooster! Mind you, we did hear a Great Horned Owl the second night somewhere in the woods. That was fabulous!
I'll be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight. Including little Eva.
Hugs
Jaydee

Such a great card. Like the look of those back ground coffee ‘stains’ :}
Our coffee maker goes almost 24-7
The reflections in your photos………………Beautiful. How pretty those photos would be printed out, mounted on canvas and hung on the wall.
Have yourself a beautiful day and enjoy your evening.
Hi Jaydee ~ Firstly, I have to say that I love the coffee stains behind the focal point on your card, and your sentiment is fabulous! Very creative, as always!
I love when you share your photos of nature with us…really beautiful scenery ~ Thanks! It sounds like you had a lovely time away…so glad you were not affected by Matthew, too 🙂
Love your card…the background is just perfect! Thanks for sharing the pictures…so pretty!
A super card with a super sentiment! There is a time every day for me when only coffee will cut it! I also really enjoyed your stunning, serene lakeside pics. I am always envious of how you get to experience the fullness of the Autumn season! Sadly, where I live, ‘true’ Autumn weather lasts about two weeks, with a handful of deciduous trees (none of them native) changing colour. Never mind I will live vicariously through your experiences! Thanks so much for having me guest with you at ATCAS this week, Jaydee!
How much fun are those coffee stains?? I love that background and the focal coffee jug and sentiment are just lovely. x Carolyn
Fun fab Jaydee ! I love this coffee stains on the background, look so real ! And this sentiment is so funny ! Here, we would have say that for wine instead of coffee ! ;-))
Thanks for sharing.
The coffee stains look amazing and real. Beautiful CAS card
