Hi Everyone.
Happy Thursday. I hope you are staying warm…. us? We are under another winter storm watch for ice and snow. Rosemary/Teri – hope you guys are getting warmer 🙂
I have another card for the AECP class projects – this one is for the "Seasonal Scene Building". Now, this is a course I definitely needed, as creating scenes is just … well.. difficult for me. I always admire people who can create these fabulous scenes from multiple different stamp sets. I just can't! Well, Nichol does a good job of trying to take us out of our fear zone and uses multiple different ways to create a scene. One of the lessons is to use oversized elements. Whilst the elements on the Coffee Love set are not partiularly oversized, they are pretty big when you put them together as a group.
I wanted to keep the scene true to me – being clean and simple – but still try to stay true to the collection idea. Looking back at the card, I really should have put a line behind the objects to make it look as though they were sitting on a table!
To add more interest, I stamped some of the images directly onto the card base and fussy cut out the cups and raised them on foam dots.
I added the sentiment above the scene and felt it needed just a little something more in the shimmer and shine department… so I found an old wooden heart element and used my Zig glue pen on it and added some gold foil. I needed to make sure that the gold didn't rub off the element, so I set it with some matte fixative.
Here's my finished card:
Ok.. more snow and ice. I will say no more on THAT subject! But, I will share a couple of things in the snow…… I was crafting in my room over the weekend and looked out over the wetland. It was incredibly sunny (although cold) and I noticed a couple of deer wandering past just in case there was some bird seed that had fallen from the feeder.
Every morning I check out of the bedroom window to see what has been wandering around in the back yard. The great thing about the snow is that you have a good idea of whether the rabbit has been up and about – and where the deer have been going
On this particular morning, it was very obvious that the deer had been wandering all over the back yard!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

This card is so sophisticated… perhaps it has to do with the great embossing and monochromatic theme!!? Love the scene that you created with the coffee set! Nicely done!
I felt like going and enjoy a good cup of coffee. I loved the rabbit footprints (pawprints??)
