Happy 4th July! I realized I should have made today’s card red, white and blue, but I had already chosen a card from my Color Cube and forgot that I would be posting it today. However, I hope all my USA based readers had a wonderful day celebrating 250 years since we Brits lost our tea in the harbour :-). Seriously, how fabulous to be celebrating 250 years of independence!
My card today uses a set from Concord and 9th called Fueled with Love. It’s the cutest darned set and I was inspired to use it for a brand new challenge site called All About Paper Craft. It’s great to see a new challenge site available to us. The challenge this week is to create a friendship card. Now, I was originally drawn to making a feminine card with florals but, as you may have noticed, my brain seems to be doing strange things and the little contrary gremlin in my head told me to go in a totally different direction 🙂
Here’s a sneak peek:

I paired the dies and stamps from Fueled with Love with my very favorite stencil from the Greetery alled Knit Wits. It seriously is one of my most stencils! I love the little hearts it creates.
Here’s the challenge badge from All About Papercrafts:

I really wasn’t sure what colors to use, so I looked through my trusty Color Cube and found card 398. I thought the range of pinks would work really well. It did have a really rich purpley-red as the final color, but I decided I needed to change that out to black for a little more contrast.
I die-cut, assembled and stamped the various elements for my card and then added the color blended background from my Knit Wit stencil. Once everything was ready, I added a sentiment and then adhered the elements to the card base.
Here’s my full card:

Isn’t that cute?! I love these silly little fuel tanks with their vintage vibe. Oh, and here’s my card with the color cube that I used for inspiration:

I know the talented team across at All About Papercraft Challenges would love it if you could find the time to play along this week! I know I will be adding them to my regular roster.
I’ll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Fabulous card, Jaydee! I love the combination of cuteness and humour as well as your colour choices and subtle stencilling in the background. Thanks so much for sharing it with us at All About Papercraft challenges, we look forward to seeing you again. Kerry, DT
