Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
Finally back and the heat and humidity are really high. Currently it's in the mid 90s and the humidity is moving on up to 85%, pushing the heat index into the triple digits. Apparently we are due to keep these conditions around until mid-week! Salt Lake was hot… but not humid, it was like an oven getting off the plane yesterday. I have to tell you… I'll take the minus temperatures any day over the hot, humid days! So, I am staying inside today, resting my leg (after unpacking that is!) and trying to get some crafting done.
I have loaded as many of the pictures that I took into my mobile me gallery. I have also tried to categorize them for you. Convention really was pretty amazing. The SU team do a fabulous job running these events and making even small demos feel special. Prize Patrol is always a wonderful thing – especially for those lucky enough to receive something 🙂 but, all of us got to take home several things during the +One sessions. We each got a pack of the new Holiday Minis, a Simply Sent card set, a special business related stamp set, the hostess stamp set from the new mini and an MDS CD. In addition, there was a workshop in a bag as a present after the Make and Take sessions, as well as the fabulous binder that was especially created for the convention attendees.
Here is the link to the first part of the uploads. CLICK HERE to go to my mobile me gallery – Part 1
I will post part two tomorrow night for you as soon as I have finished uploading the pics.
On a personal note:
Lou and I spent a couple of days in Utah prior to the start of convetion. Because of the injury to my leg, we actually delayed our departure by a day. As I am not allowed to drive right now because of my dizzy spells…oh yeah.. any my leg! :-) Lou was very kind and agreed to accompany me to Utah, drive me around and make sure that I got to go where I needed to go. We thought it would be good to spend a couple of days before hand relaxing in the mountains. Boy… are we glad we did. It was phenomenal. We went up to Sundance Resort and spent a couple of days up there. Unfortunately, we were not lucky enough to spot Mr Handsome himself, Mr Robert Redford, but there were a few reminders of the fact that this is his brainchild. The setting is absolutely incredible. We could absolutely understand why he chose this spot to build his house so many decades ago. There is something magical about the place.
After the checking in, having lunch and walking around a little, we decided to do the 45 minute ride up and back down the mountain in the ski lift. The ski lift takes you up to 7,000 plus feet. What a ride. It was GORGEOUS. In fact, so gorgeous – we did it twice!
We went for a drive to Park City and then took the mountain road back. Coming down the other side we came across the most amazing size. A birch forest. Actually…. as Rach pointed out… this is an Aspen forest!!! Thanks, Rach! Now, I've seen many forests in my life, but never one completely filled with aspen trees. It was incredible. It was so disconcerting because my eyes couldn't find a way through the trees. It was absolutely, incredibly, amazingly, gorgeous.
I tried to take some pictures, but it is so hard to capture what it felt like.
Here's a wider vista shot
As we drove around the other side, there was this amazing view of the other side of the Timpanogos with part of the Deer Valley Reservoir in front.
If you are interested, I will share some more pics with you tomorrow. It really was a gorgeous place. Within a day Lou and I were incredibly relaxed. It felt so far from anywhere else on earth. Whilst we were going up on the ski lift – over the trees, a falcon flew out of the trees just below us. First time in my life I have ever looked down on a falcon!
Well, I am off to do some crafting. Yes! I came back very inspired from convention and am itching to get some ink and glue on my fingers.
As always, thank you for visiting my blog – and for your comments. You know they mean a great deal to me. Check back tomorrow for more convention pics and let me know if you would like to see some more pics of Sundance.
Prayers and warm hugs for those who need a little lift. Missy, Kim, Soozie, Cindy, Vicki and Ann – it was wonderful to meet you all and spend time with you, I hope you had a fabulous trip back.
Hugs
Jaydee

Oh GOOD! I’m SO glad Lou was traveling with you. Whew! The photos are amazing! Are those Aspens by any chance? I’ve seen Aspen forests that look like that, and they are utterly STUNNING come autumn. I do hope you’ll share more photos–please. :o)
And, too, I thank you for taking the time to upload all those photos to Mobile Me. There’s so much inspiration there it is almost overwhelming.
I’m glad you are home, but sorry for the heat and humidity. We’ve had three or four absolutely STUNNING days, but the heat and humidity are back tomorrow and for the rest of the week. :sigh:
Hugs and prayers for all those in need. Howdy Lou! :o)
Oh wow, these views are such breathtaking. I can see why you chose to take the trip despite your leg injury. I would have done the same. It makes a difference to have Lou with you to share the experience. I would really like to do some exploring around Utah with family and do the convention. Thanks for such an insight to the mountain and Park City. Please share more…
Now, I am going to view the gallery…
Rach… you are absolutely right.. they are Aspens… Thank you! I have corrected my post. It truly was INCREDIBLE. There was also a cabin just above the shot that I took – and it was for sale! Talk about off the grid. Man! I would love it!
hugs
