Diving Swans for Paper Players #749

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous Stef’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s theme week.  Stef’s theme gave me the opportunity to ink up YET ANOTHER set that I got with my Jennifer McGuire Crafty Box.  This certainly is the box that keeps on giving.  An added advantage of this is that it’s a set I was looking at purchasing anyway.  So I was thrilled to find it in the crafy box.  It’s a set called Diving Swan and it’s from Waffle Flower.

Here’s our badge for Stef’s challenge this week:

I began my card by die-cutting the swans with Neenah 110# cardstock.  I then die-cut the lily pad with watercolor cardstock.  I created some watercolor puddles on my work surface and dipped the lily pad into the various puddles until I got the look that I wanted.  I then splattered some white and blue inks onto it.  I die-cut and blended the bulrush and adhered that to the card base.  I adhered the lily pad onto a piece of black cardstock and then popped it up from the card base.  I added the swans and the sentiment and my card was complete.

Here’s my full card:

Oh… I can think of so many great sayings for this image!

Before I go I wanted to share a couple of photos of the cats.  Honestly, I’ve owned lots of animals in my life but no animal ever had the ability to look at me with such disdain.  There’s something about the Maine Coon faces that gives them the haughtiest or grumpiest faces!  Here is his majesty, Sir Chili, sitting starting me down because I told him he shouldn’t be on the dinette table!  BTW, I’m sorry about the mark right across him, but there is a massive problem with people selling fake Maine Coons on the internet and stealing photos of real cats to showcase!

Disdainfulchilli

I ask you… does that look like the face of a cat that is saying, sure…. I’ll jump off the table right now?!!!  yep… NO!  That’s the face of a cat who has just told you to go play in the traffic on the M1!

Charlie, on the other hand, is an angel.  He knows he has to sit on the banquette and not on the table.  Look at that little face.  Butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth!

CheerfulCharlie

You wouldn’t believe he was 16 would you?  He really is the cutest – and smartest – cat.  He also weighs less than 1/3rd of what Sir Chili does!   However….. Charlie rules the roost – no-one messes with him 🙂

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Those little butts are just adorable, and you’ve given them the perfect water in which to wiggle! But those kittys…..oh my goodness, I am loving these pictures!!

  2. I’ve seen plenty of birds at many a pond doing what the swans are doing and it’s always amusing. The water looks fantastic and the swans certainly bring a smile – it’s just such a cute scene, Jaydee.
Your cat photos are fabulous, I always enjoy seeing them!
